Post by darthmunky »

Were there any games that were better on GameCube than on PS2 and Xbox (or others)?

no, all games on gamecube were way worse and looked cartoony and kiddy because the gamecube can't do realistic graphics like the xbox and ps2 can

I remember many magazine/Interweb reviews at the time saying that the GameCube had the best version of Sonic Heroes. Even if it wasn't the best, it's sure better than the shit PS2 version.

General rule of thumb for multiplats that gen is that xbox > gamecube > ps2. I'd say that most of the time the gamecube versions of multiplat games were on par with the xbox's though.

There were some exceptions though, Gamecube iirc had the best console version of Beyond Good and Evil.

I've been told the PS2 version of Killer7 is awful, so go with the GC one there.

I'd say taking XBox or Gamecube versions over PS2 versions is a pretty safe general way to view it. Before Microsoft dropped online support for original XBox games online play would put XBox versions over Gamecube. Now that online isn't much of an option I'd say they're pretty much even but the ability to use a Wavebird is a definite plus for the Gamecube.

In general, yes - although the Xbox version of MvC2 was, from what I've heard, not as good as the PS2 version. In fact, most Capcom (and other) fighters are just better on the PS2 thanks to the wealth of joystick options - although I did prefer SC2 on Gamecube because Link fit the SC universe much better than Heihachi or Spawn did.

Sonic Adventure DX on GC. It was better than the DC because it came with the unlockable games. It not on PS2 but I thought I mentioned it. As a retro gamer I love games that include older games. Animal Crossing Nes games were awesome. Too bad I don't have a cheat thing to unlock the hidden games.
Thanks everyone...

I got all my multi-platform games on Xbox but now that some Xbox originals are not backwards compatible, I need to buy and re-buy some of them for GameCube. Time Splitters 2 is the main one I want right now.
