Bad gaming habits
Re: Bad gaming habits
Well, I actually rarely play online games stealthily (MGS4 excepting). In most online FPSs, I'll completely rush down my enemies ... and it usually works, actually. It's when I try to think things through that I get killed.

Pressing down+b while trowing a pokeball in SSB

In most adventure type games where you need to cover a lot of ground I tend to press jump over and over...it makes me feel like I'm going faster.

Still spending money on the ol' hobby every now and then.
Which brings me to ask a question about a common habit I see. Anyone with a backlog, are you actually buying stuff you're(or at least think you are) sure you want, or are you just buying more titles because they're out there?

-Buying games in bunches (i'm a sucker for 4 for £20, or bulk buying on eBay)
-Selling consoles to fund other buys, then buying that console back in a year or two.
-On FPS games, constantly reloading so I always have a full clip of ammo
-On most games, insisting on killing EVERY enemy on the level
-On racing games, instead of overtaking rivals, bashing them off the road

Re: Bad gaming habits
I try to get 100% on my first run on games. Which makes them less enjoyable, but I can't avoid it. I'm currently playing Tomb Raider: Anniversary and had to restart twice because I missed some relics. It's a pain because often I don't want to use guides either. Now I'm just creating saves after each stage. It's quite bad that you can't redo the stages from the get go (you can unlock that "feature" later on, but it should be there from the beginning).

Now, guys, stop saying that you buy more games than you can play. Seriously, everyone says that in every damn topic. It gets old. Fine, you don't have self-control. Nothing new here, move along.

Re: Bad gaming habits
Whenever I start a game, I always rub the controller on my crotch and then sniff it for good luck. This is a bad habit because I know that some day it will get me kicked out of Game Stop or Toys R Us or Dave & Busters.

In the Tony Hawk games, anytime I have trouble finishing a certain challenge, I'll get into the habit of pressing Start, Down, and A every time I fall. This restarts the current challenge, and it's a combination of buttons that is second nature for me because, well, I fall a lot.

I have a sort of guide-dependency, even if the solution is pretty evident. It's like a security blanket, and I don't like wandering aimlessly.

Re: Bad gaming habits
Most of the time when I am at close the end of the game, I actually stop playing the game until at least a year later so I could beat it. For some reason I take breaks on games and it lasted me a year.
