digimon world 2 problems

Hi, I have been playing DW2 on epsxe 1.60, and I have had no problem until now. My problem is, that when I am in battle after i select my attacks and the turn begins as soon as any digimon attacks my game slows down. then after the attack is finished it speeds back up . It's a minor problem, but really annoying. Please help me out.
