Which Saturn 2D fighter to buy?

Post by Curlypaul »

Well my Hori arcade stick is on its way so I guess I ought to buy some 2D fighters to play it with.

I know Racketboy has already covered stuff like this but I am aftersome thing fairly specific. My skills in this genre range from poor to complete shite so I was after something that is pretty easy and my budget is small (about £10) so something that is not too pricey and doesnt need me to buy a cart as well. If I get into it I'll get an AR cart later on.

So, what would you buy?

My favorites: Street Fighter Alpha 2 and X-Men Vs Street Fighter.

Alpha 2 is still in my top 10 all-time favorite games. Better than Alpha 3 IMO.
Both are also easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master.
Alpha 2 will obviously be the more affordable of the two since it was released in all regions.

I'll second Street Fighter Alpha 2. It's full featured and has great graphics. I really was unimpressed with SFA3 and the Street Fighter 3 trilogy as well, for me I'll take Street Fighter 2 and Alpha 2! :D

I suggest Marvel Superheroes. I prefer it over the later team-up Marvel games, and it is waaaaay easier than the earlier game (Children of the Atom). It's a lot of fun and even average joes like myself can beat it. Another thing is Marvel Superheroes is usually cheap cheap cheap to buy.
