Metal Arms: Glitch in the System

Post by fuctfuct »

Since i am broke (again) i have sold all my current gen systems/games. I have been trying to finish all the last gen games i have always meant to play.

I always hear great things about this game and have the Xbox version. Every time i have tried to play it in the past the screen tearing just bugs me to no end... and i stop playing.

Does anyone know if the PS2 version is worth getting? ie. does it have crazy screen tearing like the Xbox version?

You already created a comparison question Thread today here, why make a new post?

Are there any games that are better on the PS2 then the Xbox

This is a specific question about a specific game with a specific problem. I don't see how it would hurt to ask in its own thread.

Please keep topics to their relevant section. Everything does not just belong in the General Gaming section.

Rise! Rise!Rise from the grave old, buried topic!

I've been playing this along with Kirby's Epic Yarn and I agree with a lot of people that it was a game that deserved more attention. I'm not big on shooters but I have enjoyed this one so far. The gameplay is run of the mill third person shooter fair. However, the game is full of personality, charm and humor. It has some of the funniest lines I have heard in a game and every enemy in the game is so wacky and has good AI so it feels like the game is really alive

I also like how they shake things up every few levels so you get more then just shoot, kill, grab health over and over again. There's a level that has you racing through an area while your buddy is in the gunner seat blasting baddies, a level where you control a giant robot, environmental hazaards that go beyond the shooter formula of having red barrels everywhere, a variety of cool subweapons beyond your usual grenades and other neat things like possessing enemy robots and using them against eachother

I don't mind the screen tearing. You just get over it after a while. I should mention that the game's reputation for being extremely hard is not deserved. There are plenty of checkpoints, droids who will sell you ammo/health and you can always backtrack through a level to pick up extra health and bullets before advancing forward. It's standard shooter fair

I also love that this was a console exclusive. It's nice to get the occasional console shooter that I can play without something saying, "Pffft, the PC version is sooooo much better". Great game so far and it has a cool replay level feature. Icing on the cake there
