Exactly why I own a DS and PSP, and not any current Gen consoles.
(That and they are damned expensive)

I agree with DLC being the worst thing about modern games. If a physical media game has DLC, I don't buy the game. >_>

And it's the #1 thing I'm absolutely sick of hearing about 10 times a day on news/blog sites, most often about upcoming DLC releases before a game is even out or the day they're pushed out. Terrible.
Yes, that's another thing about modern gaming I cannot stand. In fact, the whole push to digital distribution just flat out sucks for someone that enjoys having a physical collection of games. In addition, we never really "own" something distributed digitally.

I used to stray away from PC gaming due to the huge amount of time and investment setting things up and keeping everything up to date. But now i'm pretty sure my PS3 spends more time updating itself, installing files etc than my computer. Not to mention that when i bought it, i had to purchase a hd monitor and now theres move?
Haha, that is so true, which can be added to the list as another "annoyance" with modern gaming. I think I've spent more time updating my games and consoles than actually playing them (ok maybe not that extreme 8) ). The PS3 updates seem to take forever to download and install as well.
