Shame some folks can't look past graphics to play a few truly classic titles. Almost like people who refuse to watch black and white movies...
...oh well, not a big deal I guess.

Not wanting to be that guy but if graphics mean that much to you that you won't play a PS1 title, why are you even a member of this website? It just seems utterly bizarre that this topic would even come up here.mas wrote:Alright I just asked a question Now that i got my answer then Im not going to get any ps1 titles. Thanks.

OMG guys give the guy a break. He was just asking if he could make the games look a bit nicer. It's like all those guides this site has, about which output gives a better picture. Would you think highly of the people who'd message you to tell you that "the only way to experience these games is with the original RF cable, if you use anything else you ain't retro"?
And yes the games look slightly better. Not that the graphics are better, it's just that the picture is a bit clearer (if that makes any sense).

The guy just essentially said he's outright not going to play ps1 games because they're too ugly nowadays. Are you really surprised that people are bothered by that?ZeroAX wrote:OMG guys give the guy a break. He was just asking if he could make the games look a bit nicer. Perhaps he used to own the titles and was wondering if they looked any better, so it might be worth to buy them again? And really the guy is entitled to his opinion. We might disagree with it (I do as well) but what do you think we would achieve by attacking him?AppleQueso wrote: The guy just essentially said he's outright not going to play ps1 games because they're too ugly nowadays. Would we get him to try out the games anyway? No. He'd probably just consider us losers who attack people for having different tastes than us.

Re: ps1 games on ps3?
I have found this to be true with most 3D games. When I try playing Final Fantasy IX on the PS3, it looks terrible compared to playing it on the PS1.AppleQueso wrote:me thinks it's just playful teasingBreetai wrote:Me thinks you guys are taking this a little far with the OP.
But yeah, in my opinion ps1 games don't really look any better on a ps3. Various games have minor graphical issues (which may or may not bother you) so you could maybe argue that they look a little worse.

All it did was smooth out the textures n64 style. On a lot of games it wasn't really notable, but on a certain few (namely Rival Schools and Mega Man Legends, from personal experience) it looks absolutely fantastic. I wish it was on the ps3.Flodder450 wrote:The PS2 had an option to kind of smooth out the pixels i think

Only downside is that you had to enable it EVERY TIME you wanted to play a game with it.
