ps1 games on ps3?

I just want to know if anyone can tell me if the ps3 actually make ps1 games look better? I want to pick up tekken 3 and capcom vs snk and maybe ridge racer and a few other arcade ports. But i just want to know if the ps3 makes ps1 games look decent enough to play again? Thanks

Yes it does! it looks amazing, better than out of a ps1, unless you have a crt of course, than the ps1 looks better!
But forget about playing Ridge Racer Type 4 with analog steering with your L3 analog stick on your sixaxis or dualshock. It doesn´t work. I don´t know how many ps1 racing games support analog steering.

These are the ps1 racing games I have, none support analog steering or negcon:
Ridge Racer type 4
Ridge Racer
Ridge Racer Turbo hi-res ver. 60 Fps
Side by side Special 200

And the negcon is not supported as well, which means playing with digital steering which is ridiculous. any non analog controls game should be fine!

Why are you offended? I just wanted to see if the games look better before I dish out some cash on these games and find out they look the same. If they do then I'm not going to bother. That's all. Sorry if offened you.

But yeah, in my opinion ps1 games don't really look any better on a ps3. Various games have minor graphical issues (which may or may not bother you) so you could maybe argue that they look a little worse.

It's not like it's going to automatically reskin the games to look better. The games are going to look the same. The only improvement will be the way they are connected/displayed on your TV. So comparing a PS1 game playing through a 15" CRT TV through AV connections vs. a 48" LCD TV through HDMI... obviously the second will look better but the game is going to be just as pixelated as it was in 90s.
