Toys-R-Us: Sealed game missing it's contents

Post by avrame »

Man, I've read horror stories of this type in the past, but it has yet to happen to me. This Xmas, my brother-in-law bought his son a Xbox 360, so two weeks ago, I bought him two games from a local Toys-r-Us (Lego Starwars and Street Fighter IV [B1G1]). Oh yeah, we also bought him a MP3 player.

Fast forward to this weekend, my nephew's birthday, and I give him the said gifts. He opens them, and is ultra excited to played them.

Fast foward a bit more to today. He and his dad are home due to the holiday, and call me up at 8:50. Both games are empty. Both games have been filled with notebook paper and a blank CDR. Also, the MP3 player doesn't work.

I'm FU**ING pissed. Not only did this cause problems for me and my brother-in-law family timewise, it just easily ruin a little kid's birthday party. Anyone else have trouble with this kind of crap? Also, might be jumping the gun here, but how the heck do you convince the employee that you weren't the one that stole the contents.

Man, F**K Toys-r-Us. I want my Kay Bee Toys back.

so you have heard of other stories similar to this one?

it would be pretty difficult to convince them you didn't pull the 'ol switch-a-roo . but, if this has happened in the past they might be understanding.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Sevin ended up with an empty PSP game previously. I remember because I finally found him a copy of the game later.

Man, according to tyhe articles "Be sure to open your item either in the store, or after you left". Not sure if I'm the only one that feels this way, but I'm more excited about a sealed game than a used game...

But then again, I'm more excited about a game than NO game. Jesus. :x

This happens a lot at Dick Smith Electronics and Target around here, but with Manuals and DLC cards, as both stores only take the disc out and put the rest on the shelf.

When my friend got black ops (The one in the tin) it didn't have the DLC card for the 4 zombie maps, when we both went back to exchange they had no other copies, it took quite a bit of time to get his money back.

That sounds just as horrid, you'd assume that they would take out all the valuables prior to putting it on the shelf.

Thank that just gets to me is that fact that both games were sealed when I bought them. Meaning the pilferer took the time to reseal the game after having gutted its contents.
