I think I could play my PS2 forever and be happy.

Post by corn619 »

This system just has too many awesome games. Every time I think I have completed my PS2 collection another great game hits me in the face. I always search the ending soonest auctions on eBay and I always find something I want. I just placed a bid on another 10 games for the PS2. If I win them all it will bring my collection to over 300. No other system has this powerful of a library. The PS2 really has the best, cheapest and most diverse game selection ever. I just needed to express my love for the PS2.

I currently have 75 or so games for the ps2 but I used to have easily 100 strong. I'm planning to beef it up again eventually 8)

My PS2 collection is my second largest of all my consoles, totaling in at 115 titles (it's not reflected by my Backloggery.com page, which doesn't yet include many games my girlfriend has contributed). I've got a large mixture of fighting, survival horror, RPGs, and much more, and it practically built itself. I'd just went to stores and find what they were offering on clearance that I happened to be interested in or was willing to pay a couple of bucks to try out, and before I knew it, I had broken triple digits. And there's a lot more out there for me to try. I get giddy just thinking about it.

I will just simply say, the PS2 library does scare me.

It's literally got everything and the heart of gaming is still there, unlike a lot of modern trends today. I mean yeah there's probably hundreds of horrible PS2 games, but maybe you guys know what I mean here...

My only problem now is getting a good setup to play PS2 games again. Even after getting the component cables for the system, the games just really look terrible on my HDTV. I just really, really wish all PS3's had backward compatibility... since when I play PS1 games through my PS3, HDMI and all, they look practically flawless.

But that's just being nitpicky, the real problem is last week I dusted off my slim PS2 only to see it's giving me nonstop disc read errors and making weird noises. :? , kind of frustrating considering I've barely touched this thing, wish my parents kept the old model around. I'll just have to deal with it later when I have the patience and money to possibly fix it up or something, talk about an annoying surprise though.

I am not the biggest PS2 fan in the world but even I have to admit that it is a difficult system to get by without. It has all the big robot games...
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Definitely a beast of a console. I got a Japanese PS2 like a year ago and pretty much began collecting all over again. Tons of great games that never got localized, and importing them is surprisingly inexpensive. PS2 cases are eating my shelf space alive.

Thats funny you say that, I've been shopping around for a affordable Japanese PS2. Theres so many NTSC-J games that I've wanted for a while now. I can't seem to find them under $200.00 though.

I love the PS2. It was pretty much the only console I had for that generation. Back when I got it, I didn't have money to buy any PS2 games, and PS2 memory cards were impossible to find. But since I never had a PS1, I had a great time starting to explore the PS1 library.

Recently I've had a new found interest in the PS2. I'm going back and playing all the games I missed the first time around. And it seems that now is the best time to buy PS2 games, they're so cheap! Got my original fat model, and recently traded for a slim model so that I can enjoy the PS2 in multiple locations!

Hmm, I don't know what it is, but retro looks fine on my HDTV. I play my PS2 on it with component cables and it looks great.
