Twisted Metal screenplay

I need some ideas for a Twisted Metal screenplay. There is a screenplay writing contest going on in my area, and I need help. here are some questions I have:

What characters shouldn't be included?

What battlefields from the games (preferably the first 3 on PS1) should be included?

who should be the champion at the end? Minion, Sweet Tooth, etc?

Should there be a deeper story behind the lives of the major characters (Sweet Tooth, Calypso, etc.)?

and advice would be greatly appriciated.

I would say like stick to the source material, but there is something I did made up as I go, I was thinking the whole thing started as a underground scene in Los Angeles then after awhile things got out of hand and went beyond the underground scene and just take it on to the streets where innocent civilians where getting slaughtered in a free for all until one left standing, make these scenes in the third act. Since the game took place at Christmas Eve, I'd say go for it.

For the characters, I would say keep most of them but pick one version over the other, like lets just say TM2 version of Roadkill over the TM1 version, same goes for Specter, the only thing I would really change is Outlaw, instead of just a cop, make him a undercover cop.
