Man is haunted by the benevolent, but possessive ghost of his dog.

Residents of a small town wake up to find several cats nailed to a tree. Or one cat nailed to several trees.

You could also attempt something mundane- friends moving away, kid going on vacation, a lost dog. Make the familiar strange, the mundane fantastic.

You could write an old-school sci fi tale about the early colonization of Venus. It doesn't have to present an accurate representation of the planet. In your story it can have have breathable air and rain that won't kill you.

Write some thinly-veiled gay erotica set in the 1930's, where two teenage boys go camping together and begin to explore their newly-awakened feelings after some awkwardness during a swim in a nearby creek.

Write a depressing first-person narrative from the perspective of a black cat at an animal shelter. Nobody adopts black cats.

Write a story from the perspective of a chocolate bar who wants nothing more than to be eaten. Unfortunately, he is left in a hot car. Will he melt before his owner returns to eat him?

there is a super hero doing his thing. While hes saving the world, fighting bad guys, and protecting things, he starts to daydream about a boy. A boy doing his day to day life, eating, playing, going to school. This super hero is getting more and more of these random daydreams. It starts to worry him, why are the dreams getting in his way.

but what is reality he wonders..... I am a super hero dreaming about a chlid, or am I the child dreaming about being a super hero?

Is my world real, or is it just the whim of a little boy?

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I am still brainstorming and some of you have some cool ideas. I will let you know what I eventually choose to write.

I can not have any cliched story lines because my professor nails people who do not use something more unique. One boy wrote about zombies and almost got crucified for it. LOL

The black cat idea is interesting, but my other story I already turned in was about a house cat that wants to escape.

Thanks guys! You all have some good ones!

How about writing a story about that? Except he really gets crucified.

My Calculus I professor told my class a story from when he was in a Catholic school.

One of his math teachers, who was a nun, said dividing by zero was illegal. Yes, illegal.

When his class had their next test, he accidentally saw a classmate divide by zero on his paper. RIGHT THEN, a couple cops burst into the classroom and took him out, and no one saw him again.

Apparently it was for driving a car into a river, but the other one's better. :P

Maybe you could write a story about people getting arrested for stuff like that?
