Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, IL

Post by dlmvii »

Has anybody ever been before? It's apparently the 2nd largest arcade in the USA....it looks like it just opened a few months ago.
You pay $15 to get in the door, and every machine is set to free play, and you can stay till they close, at 2am.
Anyways, I went with a couple of friends last weekend - I haven't been to a full on arcade in years, and it was a blast. I'm making the trip again soon.

The website's http://www.gallopingghostarcade.com/
(though it appears to be down at the moment...)

Yes, I've been there twice, and I've actually written an article for the site on it. I'm still waiting to see what Racket wants with it.

The one thing that made em sad was the lack of any shmups post 1990. They had Raiden Fighters 2 (I think...maybe it was Jet). But it wasn't working. Sad :(

This place was pretty cool, but it seemed like many of the games were not working or in less than stellar condition. I was kinda sad because I wanted to get my Donkey Kong on.

Looks pretty cool. I normally go to Star Worlds or Nickel City, but that looks like a fun place to visit too.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to spend a day up there sometime since I'm in Illinois.

I've never hear of this place before, but thanks for the heads up. I live pretty close so I'll have to stop in sometime and check it out.

Cool, this might be an excuse for a road trip to Chicago.
