Yeah, the 3D cutscenes will draw some attention from the fact that the gameplay is in 2D, but in higher detail like the PSP ports of FF I and II. This is forgiving compared to the release of FF I and II, since gamers get to have the "whole" FF IV storyline on 1 UMD, instead of download the After Years segments one-by-one (how much did cost Wii owners at the end  ).

Still, do anyone want this? Or would they rather want a full HD-mix FF VII?

I'm definitely looking forward to this. I didn't really care for the graphical style of the DS version. The few screenshots I've seen of the psp version look pretty nice. here's a bunch of screenshots if anyone's interested

Indeed. I can't wait to play this on my 46 inch tv via the component cable. it'll probably be pixellated as shit but it will still be awesome!

I really liked some of the new elements they brought to the game (the augment system in particular was neat), but I had a hard time getting past the graphical style they chose as well. It worked alright for FF3 DS, but style just doesn't seem natural for FF4. Just made it hard to take seriously, which may have been the point anyway.

I'll be getting FF4 Complete day one for sure, it's my favorite FF. Here's to hoping the GBA additions made it in.

Im actually pretty excited for this release. Square Enix seems to be really trying to push the PSP this year. Type 0, Third Birthday, Complete Collection. Im more than ready for all of these.

As Ive never completed FFIV I am going to pick up this release. Like the poster above me said, I just couldnt get into the DS verion for some reason. I felt like the game lacked the character that its going to have in this version. Cant really explain that considering its the same game though.

I feel the same way. Between Square, Xseed and Atlus I hope there is a solid drive to keep UMD's alive in the US. Admittedly,as you've pointed out, the PSP release schedule for the next few months is already impressive for we retro-centric fans.

I forgot to mention the new Dissidia. Which makes me even more pumped to play the Complete Collection. When I started playing the first Dissidia it gave me a pretty strong yearning to replay the games that the characters were from.

I know this phrase gets overused a lot, but "day one purchase" nonetheless. Not only is FF4 one of my favourites in the series, compiling it together with the excellent after years and keeping the same 2D style (what were they THINKING on the DS version..) means my PSP will get some serious love.

I suppose that all I can really hope for is that they do a PSN release. Couldn't give a fart in high wind for UMD.
