Anyone reading The Boys? I think it's a pretty solid series. It's really starting to pick up. A lot of stuff Dynamite Entertainment is putting out is pretty solid lately. The Last Phantom and Warlord of Wars in particular. Warlord of Mars is showing a lot of promise.

I've been following Haunt monthly too, but it was much better in it's early stages.

Avatar Press isn't too bad either. The 'Crossed' series is so twisted though... I got an issue of 'Crossed: Family Values', and it's most likely the sickest comic I've ever read. It's waaaay over the top. Avatar Press just finished this limited series called 'Supergod' (by Warren Ellis) a few months ago, definitely worth checking out if you like his work. It was a really good read.

Anyone read that new Iron Fist and Power Man limited series that just came out? I read the first issue and thought it was kind of eh, not bad though. I haven't been liking what Marvel has been putting out so much lately.

Can't stand the Boys personalty. Ennis and his distaste for Superheroes gets old very quick. It was fine in The Pro becasue its only really a three issue book. When he made fun of Wolverine and Spiderman in his punisher marvel knights run it was ok casue it only lasted a few issues as well.

When he does it for any longer than that its just lazy. The final arc of Punisher MK, confederacy of dunces, was god awful.

The Boys is like that, but with a mature label. I get that hes saying superheros in real life would have some issues. Some would be scum, but what that book fails to account for is that in all likely hood their would also be people who were genuinely good, and most would be somewhere inbetween.

The Boys doesn't do that. Its only got one note. "Superheroes are dicks". But then the Boys themselves are scumbags for the most part. Hughie being the only exception.

As for Crossed, its shock value for shock value, and nothing else.

If you enjoy the books that's cool, but that's my take on them.

So what do you guys think of Wonder Woman's costume for the upcoming TV series?

I think it looks a little too plastic.

I like the girl, but not the costume. Even worse than the costume is the show's creator: David E. Kelley, aka the creator of Ally McBeal.

Since I got a Kindle I thought it was time to read more books. But comic books won out. I have been rereading DMZ and reading Get Smart, Scrooge McDucks, and Hellboys

Anyone have some suggestions for an old marvel fan getting back into the hobby? I know little can top DMZ, but its worth a shot. Scalped is next up after I get caught up.

I'm actually looking to get my hands on comics for Masters of the Universe. I just don't know how many were released in the 80s until now. I was hoping to find some kind of collection combined into a graphic novel if possible. I'm really interested in what the story lines were/are. Anyone know if they exist like this or am I going to have to buy them individually? If so then were can I find a list of everything released over the years?
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

The only Marvel comic I have been reading is Spider-Man and it has been real REAL good. As someone who bailed on Marvel for DC back during the 90's I am going to try to jump back on board with the "Fear Itself" crossover that started last week. I figured it will be self contained to an extent and I will use that to get a good grasp on the current state of the Marvel Universe to decide what other books to pick up.
The first/intro issue is called "Fear Itself: The Book of the Skull #1" you can check out my site for my take on the issue.

Oh, how are you reading comics on a kindle?
