So I just completed the Tanker part, and now I'm this Raiden dude. I was Snake for all of 1 hour and now I'm gonna play as Raiden for the rest of the game?

Welcome to everybody's reaction to MGS2.

I actually really like the Tanker chapter a lot and don't mind Raiden. Raiden's girlfriend is an annoying bitch though.

It takes place over a 24 hour period too, pretty nifty.

I actually really like MGS2, never quite understood the hate outside of Raiden.

Well I am enjoying it. I was playing off the Substance disc to see if I liked it first, then was planning on putting it on the hard drive, but found out that Substance doesn't work off the hard drive for some reason, but Sons of Liberty does. And the save files are incompatible between the two versions, so I can't just switch. :x

I just beat MGS2. The way the story wraps itself up... wow. So outlandish. Also, the end cutscene was definitely about an hour long. And the whole end of the game was like 2 hours of cutscene and 5 minutes of playing time. Incredible. As a whole, I guess I liked it. I think the first MGS was a lot better though.

So I guess I'll try MGS3 out now.

That's when MGS2 flopped for me, no matter how many times I've beaten it and seen friends clear the end... just wtf.

MGS3 is thankfully, far more coherent and just a lot better in terms of story/characters. And get ready for some of the franchises greatest music.

I'm intrigue to play MGS4 now, given that it's a continuing story of MGS1 and 2. I guess I'll play 3 first though, since I already own it.

But yeah, MGS2's story was definitely out there. I did enjoy the gameplay though. Rose was super annoying. I just want to save, not be lectured by a girlfriend about relationship stuff. Also, Jack and Rose? Weren't they from Titanic?

Metal Gear Solid 3 is about the best the entire series has to offer. The 1960's back drop makes for a much better setting than MGS 1/2's 200X atmosphere. For me, the only game that came close to measuring up was MGS: Peace Walker.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
