2010~11 NHL season

Post by skyknight »

OK, I want start a NHL topic for this season.

About 2 weeks until the trading deadline, do you want to see your team buy or sell?

Me, I want to the Wild to be bold, trade some young D-men + UFA for some good young offensive players that are ready to peak, do not give up draft picks unless the player is too good to pass up (and can stay on the team for 2~4 years)!

Any reactions to Mike Fisher (or aka Mr. Carrie Underwood to folks who can't appreciate hockey! ) being traded to the Preds?

I'm hoping the Red Wings can address their defensive/goaltending issues.

As a Blackhawks fan, I'm hoping they don't.

Quality goalies are quite scarce for this season, I like Stevie Y's earlier trade of picking Dwayne Roloson for the Bolts, as he provides gritty plays and can be hot in the playoffs (under the Wild and the Oilers).

I don't know if Jiggy has any more gas in his tank for a deep playoff, otherwise he will be key piece for the Leafs as to be traded for more younger players.

After you said this, I had to look this up.

65 combined penalties, 15 combined fighting majors, and 346 penalty minutes. All of this unofficial, because ESPN were the ones that added this monstrosity up.

Yup, Super Mario ain't too happy about Isle's players involvement, and I can understand for an owner, you do NOT want to see your remaining players getting taken out by a team that has NOTHING to gain for. (This ABC is not proud of Charles Wang as an owner!)

As long as Mario willingly employs Matt Cooke his message is hypocritical at best.

Well being a Leafs fan, this is really the only exciting time of year. We've already traded for Joffrey Lupul but it'll be interesting to see the movements this year.

It's also funny to see how excited the hockey analysts on TSN here in Canada get on trade deadline day. It's like Christmas for them.

Heck, I think the NHL trades are the best to watch of ALL professional sports - the NBA players are killing the game (its now East coast vs West coast, like the hood), the NFLPA better understand that only half the teams can continue to sustain the rapid raising of salaries, and in MLB you know the big-city teams have control.
