Probably Assasin's Creed. I loved 2, and the story is really nice, but Brotherhood was really boring, and I had to push myself to beat it, so I could see the end.swiftzx wrote:What franchise's doom is next after Call of Duty?

Pretty sure AssCred is Ubisoft, who have their own issues.ZeroAX wrote:Probably Assasin's Creed. I loved 2, and the story is really nice, but Brotherhood was really boring, and I had to push myself to beat it, so I could see the end.swiftzx wrote:What franchise's doom is next after Call of Duty?

That was Activision who did all the stand-alone band games. Harmonix's band games were all fully exportable aside from the Beatles, and that one's cause the Beatles are assholes.GSZX1337 wrote:Good riddance, I stopped caring about Guitar Hero since the band-specific games started coming out. Harmonix expects me to change games whenever I want to play a Metallica song or if my friend wants to play a Beatles song?
The two real instruments for Rock Band 3 are REAL instruments. The aforementioned fucking guitar. The difference is that guitar can ALSO be used on the game. The keyboard's only a half size, but you can just as easily use your full size midi keyboard with the cheap converter box.ajsracket wrote:And rock band is nucking futs if they think i'm dropping 500 bucks to play "real" instruments on rock band 3. I'm fine with rock band 2, if I wanted to learn "real" instruments, i'd buy a f***ing guitar.

Now we just need them to stop the Tony hawk games and we will be on our way.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Thanks for putting that straight, Harmonix have always been pretty open with interoperability and the ability transfer tracks from previous games so you don't have to keep switching discs. Also, The Beatles are assholes, I wish Harmonix didn't give into EA and Microsoft with the whole Beatles resurgence a couple years back. I specifically avoided Beatles Rock Band BECAUSE it was a Beatles game. Perhaps that had a lot to do with it underselling? Can't say I've ever been to a party and gone "gee, I really fancy putting the white album on"...MrPopo wrote:That was Activision who did all the stand-alone band games. I hope Activision kills CoD/modern shooters eventually too, I really do. And it looks like they're on their way to doing so.

The article brought up a lot of things. 1- I knew there were a lot of guitar hero games, but listing them all showed how much they pushed the damn thing in four years. 2- focusing this much on CoD now can only result in pain and tears for everybody.
