woah! Nice job!
Yeah luckily I saw the ad about 10 minutes after he posted it and got to it before anyone else. I'm picking it up later today. I'm pumped because I was about ready to go trade in 15-20 games to buy one at a store but now I can use that money for PSP games :)
Very cool. Did they pull the ad? Just hoping that they don't get someone else offering $75 and knock you out of the running.

I think someone did offer more because he just called me and said it was sold. Oh well, I still have a bunch of store credit at a place in town, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with that if I had gotten this one.

Argh, that sucks. Had it happen to me a few times too. Or they contacted me back and said "I got an offer for $X+Y trying to play us off each other. Obviously good for the seller it they really do have another person interested, but I've just refused to play the game either way.

The only difference I can notice is its missing a spine card and it has Not for sale Sample printed on the inner ring of the disc. I am fairly sure not many of these "copies" are floating around in the wild and I probably made a Dreamcast collector cry by cracking her out of her factory wrapping. But hey, what's the fun of owning games if you don't play them?
It's a sample reviewer copy, store demo copy, or could have been one given to the team that worked on the game. The 2 promo Japanese audio CDs I have say "Sample" and "Loaned sample" on their inner rings but are otherwise full versions. The Violinist of Hamlin disc I have is actually signed and I got from Yasuhiro Imagawa at a talk he did years ago.
Good to know. Well I guess I'm not as special as I once thought. But at least I paid next to nothing for it. :3

It's still cool and rarer than a 'normal' copy. :)

I have lots of promo versions of music CDs and whatnot and I think they're cool anyway. 'Sample' is just typically more understated than what you see on western stuff:
For promotional use only. Sale or other transfer is prohibited. Must be returned on demand of recording company.

You might keep an eye on Craigslist for another one, I'm not sure about where you are, but I see them come up for around $50 all the time. I've actually bought two for $50 apiece on two separate occasions, they're fairly common these days. Also, you might try to find a 2000 instead of a 3000, as they're easier to get homebrew going on, and IIRC they have better screens. Good luck!

Yeah, and lucky for not getting the blinking problem that plagues so many Nes systems.
