That's an assumption that is unsupported by the evidence. Genetically, there is as much diversity within a supposed "race" as there is between races. Two black Africans from different tribes may have less in common genetically than an African and a European. This article will explain it better than I can.

Dude, half of southern Europe has darker skin than her, and are considered white. Specially since it's a French game, this is a common skin color for caucasian women in France.

Alright, conceptions of what is or not white can vary. I know in the US not many people would consider her white, since in the US white is very white.

But, anyway, my girlfriend has basically the same skin color as Jane. I don't think she would consider herself white, it's more likely she would call herself "parda" (brown, but more in the sense of "mixed").

As someone else said, I don't think it's here skin tone that makes people think she's not white. My dad is way darker than Jade. He's white, and I'm not aware of anyone thinking otherwise.

@Limewater and @GSZ

That's cool, then. I think I'm wrong about the perception of the Americans. Still, I wouldn't consider her white, nor I think a lot of people in my country would. Not that we're the target audience for games anyway.

Does this validate that "race" is cultural term more than a biological term?

Is a person black because they have dark skin color? Would that make Latinos a sub-section of black race? Are Hispanics the same as Latinos? What binds them together (physically, generically) as a race if you consider language as something learned and not inherent? Is Shaquille O'Neal white because he comes from Irish ancestry? So confusing. This is why I stick with geography; borders can change too, but they require a lot of red tape or guns.

To my mind, geographically, I'd say Jade was Hillysian.

I'm not going to bullshit and say that I'm very knowledgeable of race/skin color/ethnicity. I'm just going to lay out how I categorize people. (I hope that didn't sound bad)

Yes.

No, black is a skin color whereas Latino denotes heritage.

Are Hispanics the same as Latinos?

Apparently, yes.

No, he would be Irish with black skin.
