In the future, can you spell out the acronyms and then use the short form? I have no idea what you mean by AR as it's not a common. Googling 3DS releases, I'm guessing that you're referring to Asphalt Racing.
To be honest, I didn't know exactly what AR stood for. They never told us. They were just referred to as 'AR games'. I assumed it was Augmented Reality but since this wasn't made clear to us demoing the units I just stuck to the term they gave us.

My old man was given a Fuji 3d camera last year and it gave me a headache looking at the lenticular screen for more than about a minute in 3d and about five minutes in 2d. I am hoping the 3ds does not have this issue.
I tried turning the 3D effect off on all the games. It's odd, like the depth makes the graphics look better than they are. I think it allows your brain to fill in the gaps that it just cannot do in 2D. Certain games weren't affected by the lack of 3D it looked the same, Kid Icarus and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition to name a few. Ridge Racer was improved by being in 2D mode (as in it became playable rather than the faux 3D mess it was before) it still looked like a poor quality PSP game though.
I too was very worried that the screen would give me a headache, but it didn't. However, as with a lot of these things, your mileage may vary. The AR games gave me a headache purely because you were moving the device around and breaking away from the 'sweet spot' where the 3D worked naturally, forcing my eyes to refocus constantly + motion gives me motion sickness very easily. Once you get the device into the right position however, the 3D looks natural, it's almost like a little window into another world. It doesn't look like you're looking at a screen at all. You can move it more than I was expecting though. It's not like a mm out and the effect is broken it's more to do with the angle. If you move it from side to side or up and down, the 3D effect isn't broken, but if you tilt it slightly the 3D effect goes. The viewing angle is surprisingly large, I was able to look over my mate's shoulder and view the 3D effect perfectly well.
