Weird Winrar

Post by fuctfuct »

Riddle me this...

I take a file and make and md5 for it..
I pack both the file and the md5 in a split archive..
Extract here = md5 checks out
Extract anywhere else = md5 says file is corrupted..

driving me fucking bonkers!!

Also sometimes i will unpack a downloaded archive and because im anal i'll make an md5 of the resulting file.. then unpack it again and use the md5 to verify its the same. It isn't always the same! wtf?

Edit:

To test I just extracted the same archive 10 times. It contained an iso and a corresponding md5 file. 6 times the md5 said it was corrupt. 1 time it failed to extract and 3 times the md5 verified the iso. I'm at a loss of words here. :(

Just updated to the latest winrar .. same shit

HD issues? Are you trying to unpack a file on a flash drive?
