So many games, so little time !!!

Post by NintenBroke »

Picked up some old school consoles lately, SNES, N64 and GC with several games for each on the cheap. The deals were just too good to pass up, was in G2K games when an older man was inquiring to the clerk about "selling some games that his boys used to play" the clerk gave him a card and told him to bring them in. I waited outside for the man to come out and when he did I told him what they would give him and told him to give me a call before he sold to them. Well he called me and told me he would rather keep them and let them collect dust than "give them to the store", so I had him email me a list of everything and then I offerred him a price. Long story short I hit the motherlode for cheap, now I am just overwhelmed with consoles and games that I really want to play, but I already have a backlog of PS2 and Ds games, yes PS2 I don't even have a PS3 or Xbox360 nor do I anticipate getting one anytime soon. I could play games nonstop for 3 years day and night and not get through everything I have now. Anyone else have this "problem"? I am in no way complaining, just sharing, and yes I should be playing a game right now instead of looking at this site but honestly I can't play games all the time. PS some of the N64 and SNES games were still in original boxes with manuals. :D

Yep, pretty much. I buy more games than I play. I've long resigned to the fact that I enjoy owning games more than I do playing them.

Yep, I am finally putting games up on ebay, trying to get rid of games that I know for a FACT, I won't play due to lack of time. I have Sega Saturn games that I would like to play, but with all the awesome PS3 releases I still have to play I need to balance what I have and try to make sense of what i own. I dont want a whole house full of games that I dont have time to play or enjoy. Currently have 5 games up on ebay. My backlog of PS3 games is down to 3 games.. :P Waiting for child of eden, batman arkham 2, Uncharted 3. But I said this once before im not paying $60 for any games. By the time child of eden comes out, i should be close to having my backlog caught up.

Yes, I wish I had more time to spare for gaming. Unfortunately, wrapping up a bachelor's degree, going to work full-time, taking care of five ferrets, and also being married makes that time limited.

Yes, I think sometimes that I actually enjoy buying and talking about games more than playing them.

I pretty much make it a very firm rule that I do not buy any new releases for $60. I've probably limited myself to a $60 purchase about 2-3 times a year. It's a good thing, because it encourages me to play through older games as well as save money and purchase more with it. :)

I think everyone has at least a bit of a backlog. I personally have 5 games waiting to be beaten.

This goes for pretty much everybody on this site, which is why threads like this come up often.

if you're starting as a collector you'll soon find out that you can never keep up with playing everything you buy

i've given up playing my games a long time ago and now only play the gems :)
