I am beginning to learn to hare the USPS and their marketing strategies. Thy had a great local PO on my side of town and had been enjoying that is was conveniently located inside the ACE hardware next to my job.
Well I walk the two miles up there today arms full of packages the whole time only to be greeted with a cheerful sign saying "Out of business, please visit our other locations". No warning and no way to know they had closed or were going to go out of business, I was just in there yesterday!
The postal carrier was even passing by too wondering what had happened, asking some questions I uncovered that they're not planning to reopen that location anytime soon. So now I'm stuck going all the way across town for anything to go in the mail again just like two years ago.
My local post office closed!

You have a car now! You can go ANYWHERE!!
Re: My local post office closed!
Make them pick up your packages!
That's what I do most of the time, and it's so much easier. Buy the postage online and have them pick it up when they come to deliver mail. It's so simple, it's stupid. Haven't you seen their dumb commercials?

What Ziggy said ^ A couple bubble mailers, boxes, random shipping goods, and a scale is all you need to be a self-sufficient PO from your home. Again, make THEM pick up your packages from your residence.

I actually bought a scale off eBay for shipping purposes, but 99% of the time I ship something these days it's in a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box. It's even easier. Just click, and ship!s1mplehumar wrote:What Ziggy said ^ A couple bubble mailers, boxes, random shipping goods, and a scale is all you need to be a self-sufficient PO from your home. But yeah, for the times I wanna ship cheaper than Priority Mail, I have tons of bubble mailers and boxes lying around from stuff I bought and will just use those. All I really need is a printer and a roll of clear packing tape. Everything else is free and comes right to my door!

Now without a license and with it still taken half apart I can't. (Working on the interior a bit)hashiriya1 wrote:You have a car now! You can go ANYWHERE!!
Welcome to my life, I own the vehicle but have no means to drive it. Basically my house is here.....................................................................................................................................................the DMV is here. 10 miles away across the interstate.
I'm actually working on getting everything sorted out though, I bought the car one day and the next everyone I knew was busy as hell and I haven't been able to get a ride out there. Hopefully you'll be talking a man who's legal to drive by Friday!
I would do everything myself at home, but I like getting out and about every once in a while, other than work I typically don't ever really do anything. (which is part of the reason I bought that car)
