NATHAN ANGRY!!!

I can't freaking believe it! My XBox 360 screwed up my game save! I was playing Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 for XBox 360 last night. I mean I was REALLY playing it. I was up until 3 in the morning. I beat The Road to Wrestlemania storyline with Chris Jericho. Then I moved on to the normal Career Mode. I beat an entire tier to win the Intercontinental Championship. Which opened me up to win The United States Championship and unlocked the ECW tier, as well as adding tons of stat points to Chris Jericho. As soon as I won the belt I saved my game. There is no doubt about it, I saved it. But then the next time I turn on my XBox, when I go to the continue option the save is nowhere to be found and I'm starting at match 1 again with no stats, not only that but now I'm Triple H. WTF?!! Where's my hard-earned work??!!! I don't even want to play it now I'm so angry. But weird enough, it did save my Road Wrestlemania storyline win with Chris Jericho.

This is why I try to always back up my saves somehow, ESPECIALLY with the fickle, unreliable Xbox 360 hard drive. Course I once had to learn the hard way the importance of backing up data, so I can relate to your anger

A few years ago a friend of mine were so bored at work, we re-wrote the storyline to that game to have the now-over-the-hill wrestlers enter TNA as a radical(z) faction to breathe life into the company. All of them had to have new names (copyright infringements) and have aged poorly (but remain entertaining)... and then the real miracle was imagining the booking team to get everything right.

I probably have the outline in an old email somewhere.

Despite my current misgivings, the fact I lack cable TV and broadband (relying on monthly recaps from LoP), I still like pro-wrestling. I am a long-time WWF/WWE watcher, but appreciate everything from ECW to DGUSA.

I am very particular to WM2K (N64) and do like the FPW series(props to NCW). I just do wish CAW's were quicker to input; the console interface is very tedious and I often fall asleep midway through. In recent cases (DoR (GC)), the CD load times are ridiculous even with music turned off (well, muted; I can't stop the system from reading the music track). Arcade games like Wrestlemania: Arcade, SNSM w/Mike HaggarWrestlefest or even Big Bang Wrestling

Some of the worst offenders include WWF Attitude (DC) and Hammerlock Wrestling (SNES) (W&R is a good company, and looks great, but horrible in all other categories) and Ultimate Muscle (GBA).

I've got a lot of top wrestlers, depending on criteria (Mic Charm, Ring Presence, Career Savvy, Mat Technique, Brawlers, etc.) -- but all-around favorites? Too many to list. From all-around superstars Curt Hennig and Eddy Guerrero to sassy managers like Bobby Heenan and Matt Striker to jobbers like Santino Jamie Noble and Sho Funaki. Speaking of which, to paraphrase Hulk Hogan, you can't take away my Canadians: Trish Stratus, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, Bret Hart, and Chris Benoit.

How about Abdullah the Butcher, Dino Bravo, Ronnie Garvin, Owen, Bruce and Keith Hart (not to mention Stu!), Gene Kiniski, Ivan Koloff, Killer Kowalski (he trained HHH, for shit sakes!), Rick Martel (The Model!), Rowdy Roddy Piper (how the heck could you forget him!?! He is 100% Canadian and started out in Winnipeg, also Jericho's hometown), the Rougeaus (there are four of them, the WWF tag team had THE best theme music EVER), Stan Stasiak, Iron Mike Sharpe and Jack Tunney (WWF "President" for over a decade in the Hulk Hogan era). Of course there are more, but these guys are TOP guys for sure.

Yes, Roddy Piper isn't really Scottish... he is definitely a Canuck. Seriously, did you really not know that?

Canada has put an absolute ton of great pro wrestlers out there.

Probably still is. I used to post in Lords of Pain with ...and (censored), but that got old after a few weeks.

Also, while I like Hot Rod (he's Bret Hart's 2nd cousin I believe), I think of him more as a performer on the stick (Piper's Pit was a good showcase) and a man with good ring presence (he knows when to ham up the crowd and pose), but he was nothing more than a fighter in the ring. Punch, kick, hair-pull, drop kick, sleeper. (Not saying it wasn't effective; he PD'd the Super C with that move list.) It didn't help his position that he was usually a heel in his prime, and 80s heels aren't supposed to be technical.

Though I wanted to avoid gushing the Canadian love, I don't think all wrestlers from Canada turned out great. Everyone who went through the Dungeon (and eventually Stampede Wrestling) turned out fine though.

I used to get so annoyed by how taboo it became to speak of Benoit after the murders. WWE even went so far as to remove stuff from their dvds that involved him. I'm sorry, but that's just stupid. Sure, he murdered his family and that is morally reprehensible, but it doesn't changed the FACTS of his career. He was one of the best in ring performers of all time and helped many other wrestlers and gained their respect.

To try to act like his career never happened was just irresponsible and immature. Maybe it is just because I am objective by nature, but that concerted effort to wipe him out from the company's history really ticked me off. You SHOULDN'T rewrite history for ANY reason.

The facts are these. He was either an evil man who killed his family or just a sick man who maybe took too many blows to the head causing brain damage that affected his judgement of what is right and wrong. HOWEVER, he is still one of the best wrestlers in the company's history and like it or not, it owes him a debt of gratitude for all of his contributions. That's the unbiased truth

I feel exactly the same about it. But whenever I mention his name, the murders just come up and it becomes about that instead. So I've just stopped mentioning it.

The only wrestling game I ever had a lot of fun with was M.U.S.C.L.E. for NES. It was on the Contra 150-in-1 Famicom cart my dad's best friend had. My brother and I played it a lot.
I liked Rumble Roses for 360 too, but I can't say it's a good game...

Perhaps its because they want to pretend they had nothing to do with him and the long string of dead wrestlers that have come up over the years.

The odd thing is i think they do about as much disservice the Eddie Guerrero.

Sure they pay lots of tributes to him, but hes still used in story lines and thats just sick.

His case is also sad because he stopped doing drugs, and the damage just caught up to him, so even though he was smart enough to stop doing what the crippler didnt, he still ended up dead.

1. In my younger and more impressionable days. The current state of affairs is unwatchable.

2. WWF (eat my world wildlife federation do you honestly think people ever got the two confused?)

3. WCW vs NWO Revenge, and the first two Smackdown Games for Playstation. I also liked the Wrestlemania arcade game for the sheer stupidity of it.

4. Super Wrestlemania and most of the other 16 wwf games. Royal Rumble was ok, but they were all pretty bad.

5. The only two games i owned where WWF Raw and WWF Attitude. Neither very good.

6. Dean Malenko, RVD, The Road Warriors, Razor Ramon, Kevin Nash, Eddie Guerrero, Juventude Guerrera, Mil Mascares, Ultimo Dragon, Brett Heart, The Crippler, Super Fly, Kevin Von Eric, The Undertaker, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, and too many others.

What? Outside of those that don't live to see 50, there are those that end up with permanent disability. If they're lucky, they can stop acting on stage and work behind the scenes for a regular paycheck and benefits.

I think a lot can be said of the company's half hearted dealings with steroid use. Sure they have a policy now, but its quite obvious they haven't been serious about it for very long.

Vince's obsession with people looking like the hulk helped foster a culture of acceptance.

Its debatable, but its an argument that has been made.
