Wii WiFi

Post by kgcarini »

I have a Wii and would like to get it connected through a wireless broadband connection. Broadband connection in my area is very expensive. I live in VA and the going rates for broadband are anywhere from $50 - $100 a month! I can't afford that much. I always see these great deals on broadband, but they never have service in my area. Is anybody else having this issue?

You can't get service from a company like AT&T Yahoo or Time Warner there? They operate practically everywhere and always have promos going (Yahoo has DSL for $27/month for 1 year right now I think)

I know there are some plans out there for phone, TV and internet together. My parents got one for DirecTV, Verizon phone and Verizon internet.
Atari 2600 (AV mod), NES, SNES (region switch for PAL), Virtual Boy, Gamecube, Wii (D2CKey), PSX (Stealth V), PS2 (independence exploit w/ 160 GB HDD), Goldstar 3DO, Philips CD-i, Dreamcast, Saturn (racketboy's chip), Sega Genesis 2 + CD2 + 32X + Power Base Converter, Game Gear.

Satellite is expensive though.

Looks like it's time to move.

Seriously though, last I heard, even if you have satellite you still have to use dial-up for your upload... I don't know if that's accurate any more but like diehllane said, it is still expensive.

If you're gonna stick with dial-up, you can do it through your XP PC, share the internet connection through a wifi adapter, and pray it doesn't time out on the Wii. :(

You could get a data plan w/T-mobile at 39.99, They sell routers that work with the cards that they give away too. It's probably your cheapest option if no one offers DSL.

I think Verizon offers a data plan like that, too. Not sure about routers that work with it to set up a network though.
