Re: Confessions of an Adult Poke-addict
I generally play the games when they come out, then leave them aside forever after beating them. At least with the new ones. I go back to FireRed and Ruby now and then. I'm usually just never into the tourney gaming enough to keep playing after I finish all the game content.
EDIT: Last time I seriously worked on a team for pokemon multiplayer was when link cables were still used. I'd still probably try and build one in the future if I ever got wi-fi.
DOUBLE EDIT: Random thought- I noticed from friends who do play competitively that even after tag team matches were debuted, everybody stuck to single. Was the metagame too confusing for it? Just not as fun? Will the same thing happen with triple battles? Are single battles and OU Pokemon's proverbial Ken vs Ken fights?

I've never battled tag team. For some reason everytime I've battled folks we seemed to forget the feature existed.

That reminds me of back during the boom how everybody and their mother had a Pokemon fanpage of some kind. The one I remember most clearly was Pikachu's Palace.YoshiEgg25 wrote:If anyone's interested...

Well, ridiculous for most sites. Probably not too ridiculous for Smogon. But I'm still gonna have something they don't.

Re: Confessions of an Adult Poke-addict
Only thing I will add to this thread is that I'm 31 and I love Viva Pinata. May look like a cutesy game for kids or girls, but I love it
I have no interest in Pokemon personally. I had friends who loved the cartoon many years ago but it never appealled to me and I am not that interested in a game with a heavy human vs human component. I'm more of a single player experience guy for the most part. Plus, seeing like fifty thousand Pokemon games out there makes me not want to commit to it. However, I see nothing wrong with a person of any age loving the series

Re: Confessions of an Adult Poke-addict
So for no real reason, I started playing Pokemon Stadium 2 earlier today. I forgot how much more simplified everything was with it. Pulled out a magnemite, nearly forgot Gen II didn't have Abilities so there was no Levitate to keep him dig-proof. Additionally, faint attack was still considered a Special because the physical-special split of Gen IV hadn't happened yet. and instead of Oran Berry or whatever, we had the beautifully named PRZCURBERRY.

I haven't played those in so long. I did remember all of that (except the berry names), and it always confounded me how Bite was a special attack back then.
