Well I'm sort of excited for this for a couple reasons. First, I haven't played any version of FF 4 outside of the SNES version. So the saturation with all the remakes really isn't applicable to me. Secondly, I'm currently working on playing through all the Final Fantasy games. I just started on the first one, so maybe I can use this definitive version of FF IV for my playthrough.

Despite people rolling their eyes at yet another Square-Enix re-release, I think having the After Years content compiled onto a single retail game is nice. The WiiWare version was very expensive and seemed unclear about what order to complete the chapters in. This certainly won't be worse.

I am not going to applaud Square Enix for finally getting it right with 'The After Years'. If someone does something deliberately stupid 5 times in a row, success on that 6th attempt does not wipe the slate clean.ejamer wrote:Despite people rolling their eyes at yet another Square-Enix re-release, I think having the After Years content compiled onto a single retail game is nice. Final Fantasy used to be a really good series. Now it's the Madden of JRPG's.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm still just happy to get After Years on a physical format.

I'm hoping sometime in the future a compilation of the I-VI comes out (they could also include VII-IX by then). It would be nice to have the original version and the latest/best remake included in a big disc collection (or maybe just 1 Blu-Ray
)... maybe I'm hoping for too much. Well, the 25th anniversary is coming up in a few years
I just want to have a "definitive" version of ALL of these games running in HD on a home console (very lame that FF III was skipped on PS1).

same here. I don't really like the idea of Wiiware etc being download-only. So a nice deluxe edition physical release seems awesome. Like I mentioned before, I'd love to see Capcom do the same with Mega Man 9 and 10.Inazuma wrote:You and me both. I flat out refuse to buy Rockman 9 and 10 on wiiware, but I will go out and buy them on day one if they were released as a physical game on wii (or Famicom!). I would absolutely love to support such a thing.noiseredux wrote:same here. I don't really like the idea of Wiiware etc being download-only. So a nice deluxe edition physical release seems awesome.
