why did you originally join racketboy?

I'm still brand new here, but the reason I am here is:

1) Over the last few years, when I do a search for info on retro games, these forums often come up as having some of the best info. Lots of knowledgeable people here.

2) I used to be a regular poster on another community that, ten years ago, was a great group of people. Sadly, the community degraded into trolls and bullshit that made me swear off gaming forums for years. It seems these forums don't have that problem.

3) I love me some old videogames.

The Next Level (the-nextlevel.com). There are still some good people posting there, but there are just so many trolls and assholes. I'm too old and cranky to deal with that shit nowadays.

I met Racket on emuasylum where he sold me a 1-4meg cart for my Saturn. I glanced at his site and for some reason noted that he liked Pacman Vs. About a year later I wrote him an email about how to run Pacman Vs on two Gamecube's. Three days later he replied "You are on the front page" - and he called me fastbill. So then I started lurking the forums. Back then there was a contest to win a book:

I used to be a member of the VGDC forums (extra points if you remember site), I felt like as I got older I started to grow apart from the site, so I felt like joining here since I like the website and the community seems allot more adult-like.
