Samurai Shodown III vs Samurai Shodown IV

Post by AppleQueso »

I'm looking at saturn games to import, and noticed that these two are available on it. I've loved what I've played of the series, and I was wondering which one of these would be the better choice to get on the saturn? If II was available, I'd get it right away, but since it isn't, what's the better out of these two?

I'm not a samsho expert, but I like the series (I've played them all a bit).

IIRC samsho 3 is supposed to be the series low point.

If I had the choice, I'd go with SS4.

I've thought about getting it myself, but it would be a bit redundant seeing as I already have SS4 Special on PSX, which is basically the same game with more loading times - but also more Cham Cham. A fair trade.

SS3 is the one I played most and on ps1 (loading times were like 2 minutes or more)

here´s an official neo review of the original arcade game
http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/neo-revi ... i3/ss3.htm
it´s a slow moving high damage game.
you slice 2 or 3 times and it´s back to loading the next character.
There´s even a collection of part 1 and part 2 on the ps1 if I recall.
Back to the SS, for the SS I recommend SSIV

I still think SSV is the best in the series, but IV is pretty good, too. Also, it is the last SS game released on the Neo Geo CD, so I can play it without spending a fortune. :)

Any reason why you want the Saturn port over the collection for PS2/Wii?

Aside from the fact that I forgot that exists I generally prefer standalone releases to compilations.
