Sadly, you wasted more time than that.

Sadly Im not. Ack has read several of them, and received some himself, I got several death threats for this site in the past. Heck, I forwarded one of the last ones I got to Noise, he couldnt believe it.

It just goes to prove the internet dickwad theory.
I haven't yet gotten full on death threats, but I have gotten messages in the past that were a bit less than...polite, if you get my drift. In one case I had a guy yell at me and accuse me of being someone else from a different site, but he apologized after I emailed him back and explained the situation. Turns out he was a really nice guy, but that other fella had done something to piss him off, so they'd been at each other for a while.

I had another guy contact me over an Atari 2600 article where he claimed I hadn't done any research and instead was making up false information to badmouth him. I had gotten some information from Kotaku that turned out to have been false, and it had been something that had greatly upset him at the time since it had been about him, so I dug a little further, found out what really happened, and changed the article accordingly. I don't believe the guy meant to come off as angry as he did, but he never did quite figure out that All Caps implied one was screaming at the tops of their lungs. That was also the point at which I stopped reading Kotaku.

Beyond that I have been criticized on a few websites before for some things and received insulting comments in some of my articles. The thing is, the few individuals who actually went out of their way to contact me on things, I've been able to work it out with them and discover the correct information. It's the assholes that want to air their opinion someplace and then never seek to communicate over the point that really get to me. They might be correct about a point in the article, but without civility it just makes them sound petty, and worse, it might keep someone who needs that information from being able to find it.

And for the rest of you, if you see something in an article I got wrong, please contact me, point out what it was, back it up with documentation of some sort (the more sources the better), and be polite, and I will gladly fix it. The website's here to benefit gamers, not to hurt them with misinformation. Unfortunately I'm limited in my research tools to whatever I can scrounge on the Internet and sometimes the machine itself. And machines can't talk to tell me the truth of things.
