Are any of these any good though?Cronson wrote:PSN on PSP has quite a few Atlus games on sale this week. Including:
Class of Heroes
Crimson Gem Saga
Hammerin' Hero
Hexyz Force
Kenka Bancho
Knights in the Knightmare
Riviera (The one we just recently had a "Together Retro" with)
R-Type Command
Persona 3
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona
Steamboat Chronicles
Yggdra Union
So which one's of these are good? I've played a ton of Persona 3 and am right near the end; its so good. I just beat Valkryria Chronicles 2 so I need something else to play. Any recommendations?
What is the best Atlus game?

Best game published by them: Demon's Souls.
Best game developed by them: Persona 4 (Though if Catherine ever gets a U.S. release it might take this spot)

Class of Heroes - Dungeon crawler, a little rough around the edges
Crimson Gem Saga - Fun but short KRPG. Makes references to an earlier game that had a horrible translation. Ending is a cliffhanger.
Hammerin' Hero - Never played
Hexyz Force - Haven't gotten around to playing
Kenka Bancho - Never played
Knights in the Knightmare - Very unique mashup of an SRPG and a bullet hell shooter. I'm not sure how well it plays on the PSP, but it's really fun on the DS
Riviera (The one we just recently had a "Together Retro" with) - Decent RPG/graphic adventure
R-Type Command - Competent SRPG. Slightly unique as it tries to preserve the kind of movement R-Type has
Persona 3 - Amazing
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona - Also amazing
Steamboat Chronicles - Never played
Yggdra Union - Unique SRPG that's really fun, but you can get yourself in an unwinnable state if you're not careful

Re: What is the best Atlus game?
I would still vote for the Shin Megami Tensei series (SMT, Nocturne, Persona spinoff series)
Re: What is the best Atlus game?
My favorite is SMT: Nocturne--first rpg from atlus i've ever played, and MAN! Was a freakin' rollercoaster of WTF??? Soooo comical (little manikin kid says 'you blow'), a LOT of innuendo based demons, swearing left right and center, and just a killer storyline with replayability (has a HARD mode---and multiple endings--and you get DANTE from Devi May Cry as your own personal demon!)
anyways...
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
Eternal Poison <--*first tactical game i ever played. Just Epic.
Crusader of Centy (Sega Genesis)

I can't decide between SMT: Nocturne and SMT: Persona 4. One of those is my favorite.

Persona 4 & Sky Gunner.
Re: What is the best Atlus game?
To be honest, I'm not a fan of Atlus developed games. My favorite one is probably Dungeon Explorer, but in general I simply do not care for them at all.
As a publisher though, I can't respect them enough. Too many greats to even list, but in particular I think it was great of them to localize Guilty Gear (PSX), Super Robot Taisen OG 1+2 (GBA), Crimson Gem Saga (PSP), 3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3), and above all else, Demon's Souls (PS3).
It's also awesome that they've opted to bring KoF XIII over.
