Post Game Room pics for a chance to win $1,500

Post by Luke »

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — In celebration of the upcoming Super Bowl, Lowes Food Stores wants to see the best-of-the-best "game caves." It will award one a $1,000 Best Buy gift card and $500 Lowes Food gift card.

To enter the Facebook-exclusive "How Super is Your Game Cave" promo, shoppers must upload a photo of their game cave on the Lowes' Facebook page. Lowes' Facebook fans then get to vote on each photo. The one with the most votes wins.

One shopper uploaded a picture of a cabana-turned-game cave in his backyard. It has a covered tin porch on the front with a bar and porch swing. Inside, there's a karaoke machine, Harley Davidson pinball machine, projector with 80-inch screen and Xbox 360, along with many other items.

Another photo shows a game cave located in the basement of a home. It has a 108-inch screen, full kitchen with fridge, pool table, poker table, popcorn machine, dart game, slot machine, mini air hockey table, reclining seats, full bathroom, and a full workout room.

"It is the ultimate game cave," the owner writes on Lowes' Facebook page. All contestants must "like" the Lowes Facebook page to participate.

There is no doubt in my mind that someone on this forum should win this prize. Post your pics on the Lowe's Foods Facebook and tell them Racketboy sent ya.

Anyone enter?

I'm surprised by the lack of responses on this thread as I doubt many people have entered this contest, and I know our members have some of the best game rooms around.

tbh I don't know that any of the game rooms featured here quite match the descriptions of the ones mentioned in that article or some others I've seen across the web (although there have been a few that were close).

The sad thing is that this $1500 will probably go to someone who already had the financial resources to spend a ton of money on making an insane game room, not to someone who could put the money to use creating a new/improved one. They should have a "create the coolest game room for $1500" contest instead where people submit a vision and a budget...

I'd like to but seeing how most of the house is still in boxes it ain't gonna happen. Besides, I'll post on RB before the contest.

I don't have a facebook account or else I'd probably enter, but my room isn't complete yet because I don't have a full size fridge or stove behind the bar yet. Even then I don't think it would top the one described in the article you posted even though I doubt he has a urinal or 250 NES games.

Indeed. I don't do Facebook and I'm in an apartment with a lot of my collection in boxes. Heck, I don't even have a game room post here.

There's also all the insecure stupidity and hacking of Facebook that happens all the time.
