Finally saw Avatar: What can I say? I liked it. I still think it was way overhyped. The graphics were still noticeably CGI. I heard so many people say it was so real you could not tell it was fake. Maybe watching it on the big screen or in 3d was a different experience. CGI still annoys me with the computer generations. Seems like there faces and arms and hands and everything are constantly moving - like that somehow makes it more realistic.
I also think the movie received too much criticism. It was a good story. I feel like it was the type of story I would love and that no one else would have liked it if it wasn't such a big deal, like one of the usual sci-fi films I watch that no one has ever heard of. I do see the similarities between this and Dances with Wolves, but both movies are based on a classic idea of colonization. I can see both being copies of the story of Pocahontas.

The Tourist. Garbage flick.

Just saw Black Swan and I really enjoyed it and have to agree with you. Never before have I been so engrossed in ballet.Redline9 wrote:Before that, I saw Black Swan. I liked it. What a bad ass ballet movie, haha.
Oh. The King's Speech was pretty good too, for anyone who's interested. Of course I have a soft spot for anything with Geoffrey Rush or Helena Bonham Carter in it.

V: The Original Miniseries. Awesome. I await seeing the followup.

Wasn't a let down for me because I wasn't really expecting anything, but boy, was that movie terrible.Bradtemple87 wrote:I heard it was a letdown but part of me is still curious.jfrost wrote:The Tourist. Garbage flick.
The plot is absolute nonsense, dialogue is cringe-worthy and not even the setting saves it. It was probably the only excuse they could come up with to put Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in the same movie.
