Does recovering a gamertag affect saves and downloads?

Post by Flak Beard »

Ok, so I need to recover my gamertag to my 360 due to a corrupt offline profile. If I recover the tag, all my saves and downloads associated with that tag should work right? I'm especially concerned about my XBLA games.

Should I delete the corrupt profile before doing this? Also, any listed played games and achievements from offline will be gone right?

I'm almost positive that game save files are stored locally on your Xbox HDD or memory card. I recover my Tag all the time at friend's houses and i never have my game save progress on their boxes.

Thats true. It's only if you recover your gamertag on a different 360. Thats when the problems arise with DRM. (you don't lose the content, you just have to be signed into your profile at all times and only your gamertag can access the content, which by itself doesn't cause a problem for the average gamer, until you lose your internet connection of course :P)
