Hello everyone,
I wanted to wait until I actually had a decent question before I posted my first forum topic, so here goes..
I just passed up an opportunity to buy Pokemon Crystal (game boy color one) for $2. I was wondering if I just missed out on a deal, so I started looking on ebay to find the average price of the old gbc game. I noticed that there were a couple of Game boy advance version of this game for sale.
I've been a fan of the pokemon games for along time and I find it odd that I never heard of a remake of this game. I looked around and couldn't find much information on it.
so, I ask the knowledgeable members of racketboy. What is up with this game? Is it real? Is it an upgrade from the original? Is it possible to transfer pokemon to the DS versions in the same way that the other GBA games can?
Pokemon Crystal Version gba
Re: Pokemon Crystal Version gba
To the best of my knowledge, Crystal was not released on the GBA. It might be a pirate. I doubt it will have any advanced features.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

There are a few different fake pokemon games out there, and that may be one of them.

A GBA Crystal version would definitely be a pirate.
And yes, you missed out on a deal. Pokemon games are typically at a high price, and Crystal is the rarest of the second generation of Pokemon games. It typically goes for around $20+ cart-only.

Way too many. It's almost impossible to find a non-bootleg Emerald version anymore, for example.

If it's a GBA Pokemon game that isn't: Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, and Leaf Green; then it is a PIRATE.
This includes Crystal GBA, Shiny Gold, Naranja, Quartz, Diamond GBA, Chaos Black, etc.
(Though I do recommend Shiny Gold if you weren't into the DS's Heart Gold...)

Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

Yeah seems like one of the only ways to avoid the pirates is to buy CIB stuff, but even then the boxes are pirated as well. Luckily with the Pokemon games there are bonus things like the wifi-adapter or collector's coin or ereader card that you wouldn't be able to pirate so if you buy the games with everything you're safe, but I guess its not cheap.
Re: Pokemon Crystal Version gba
jus wanted to point out there that the hack versions of pokemon are way funner than the original versions. the people who create these things are fans them selfs and added things to the game that the fans wish they can do... i recently ordered the crystal and shiny gold for gba off ebay. i havnt gotten them yet but i cant wait. my friend has the rom of shiny gold on his computer and he loves it! the graphics of these are pretty cool to

Re: Pokemon Crystal Version gba
I got Crystal with my Game Boy Color purchase; there is no Crystal on GBA, as others have pointed out. The built in clock made the game real fun, daily events, hours where certain Pokemon are easier to catch, etc.
