Sadly, we never got a sell-off like the ones that Dreamcast and Saturn supplies went through.

i actually remember when dreamcast was on it's last days and i bypassed all the sealed games when i was at best buy at a very good price! heck, i even saw NCAA 2K3 for gamecube on that same day and never knew it would be a rarity.

I went back to that GameStop today because the manager said he'll exchange it for a new copy. I went there and they gave me ANOTHER re-sealed copy. I said "This one is also open!" He said "But we shrink wrapped it!" So I opened it in the store and the manual was dog-eared. I just asked for a refund and I just ordered it on Amazon. I am done with GS! ANyhoo, sorry, had to bitch about that. It's very annoying.

A fix: Now is the time to get PS2 titles at Gamestop, before the employees ruin them.

My reason? I posted in May of last year how Gamestop is tossing out Cases, Covers and Manuals and selling all under five dollar games in just the disc envelope. Visiting a northern Gamestop today, the under $9.99 PS2 games are now piled in that reduced shelf in just the yellow envelopes. The employee stated that all under ten dollar games gets the cases and manuals tossed. There were quite a few over ten dollar games in that dump bin.

I understand lack of room and getting more shelf space for the sixty dollar current generation games. But this is ridiculous, noone is going to dig thru that dog pile display similar to a Walmart cheap movie dump bin. At least Walmart keeps the cases. Besides, the store I visited is huge with all kinds of room.

So again, voice your gripes thru that sales receipt survey, probably too late, PS2 games will probably all get marked down and tossed due to lack of sales made worse by this stupid gimmick. Meanwhile Indy Retro Stores might benefit from this fiasco.

Bought some games from Gamestop. Just submitted a survey, I gave the Sales Associate high marks. However addressed to Corporate, this nasty gram on the last survey page additional notes section:

Other local Gamestop just received shipment of used PS2 games via UPS. Associate proceeded to toss manuals, cases and covers and then put only game discs in a yellow envelope in the cheap games rack. Not just the under Ten dollar games either, what a waste of gaming history. All games should be sold with all material traded in, part of gaming experience, even the rare Ten dollar games.

PLEASE STOP DOING THIS! SELL GAMES WITH ALL ORIGINAL COVERS, ORIGINAL CASES (WHICH HAVE A MEMORY CARD HOLDER) AND ESPECIALLY GAME MANUALS!

THAT DISC ONLY RACK OF ENVELOPES, WHO WOULD WASTE THEIR TIME LOOKING THRU THAT?

The one good thing is the seven day refund policy. In desperation one could buy a hard to find game, then have seven days to find a store who has not tossed out the case and manual yet.
