Birth: 1993. im not sure what happened when exactly but ill try. Sometime near ps1's launch my father bought one. I remember sometime near 2000, when my cousin let me "borrow" his Snes for 8 years. So I grew up with those two, (being my favorite two consoles to this day) plus the NES, Genesis and Gamegear my father also have. My first system was actually a handheld, GBA with my first game Pokemon Red. We got a ps2 Sometime is 2003 or 2004, Our sega genesis broke (i dont remember why) and we had to get rid of it. I stuck with these consoles until 2008-09 ish when i got a PSP for chirstmas and my cousin took back his snes, I bought another one from Swiftzx. (before joining racketboy). After that, thats when i really started getting consoles. Over the next few years I received a new Genesis, model 1 this time (best goodwill find ever) (N64, PS3, oXbox, Gc not sure if this orders right) -Joined Racketboy- Atari 2600, GBA sp. Thats about it.

I started gaming on the old Atari 2600 in the mid-80s. I wasn't completely enamored with it, though. It was fun for a little bit, then I'd move on to something else.

It was when I turned about 7 years old that I got an NES for Christmas, with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, The Legend of Zelda, Pin-Bot, and Star Soldier. I completely fell in love with gaming when I got this. NES was like digital crack for me when I was kid. I played the frick out of it until like 1992.

It was then (1992) that I got my SNES. Great system. Possibly even better than NES, IMO. Then I did a stupid move in about 1994-1995 and traded my SNES and all it's games in for a Sega Genesis. Don't get me wrong, I love Sega Genesis. Great system, but it was stupid of me to get rid of my SNES.

On my birthday in 1996 I got a PSX. I was a teenager at this point, so I was the perfect age for this system. I got Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 2, Crash Bandicoot, Gex, and Ridge Racer with it. Great first selection of games right there.

When the Dreamcast came out, I got one within a couple months of it's release. At the time it simply amazed me. The graphics blew anything else at the time completely out of the water. And Marvel vs. Capcom and Shenmue were must-plays for me.

After Dreamcast, XBox was the system I got. I sort of dropped off of gaming a bit at this point as this was my heavy partying days. I pretty much only played Morrowind, Halo 1 & 2, Spider-Man, and Grand Theft Auto III & Vice City during the XBox's heyday. Most of the rest of the XBox games I enjoyed I played later on.

After my partying days, I got back into gaming. But I discovered that there wasn't much out there anymore. There's still great games out there for new consoles that I highly enjoy; but it's just that there isn't the selection and innovation anymore like there was in the old days. Everything is a sequel or a copy of some other popular game. So because of that, I started collecting old consoles and old games a whole lot more and truly became a collector.

1993: Born.

1995: I play my first game: the free games that came with my Dad's Windows 3.1 computer.

1996: I get my first game that belongs to me, a Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear fun pack for Windows 95. Amazingly, I still have it to this day. And it still works.

1998: I play a console for the first time; my neighbor's Sega Genesis. I liked Sonic 2 the best.

2001: I discover free online flash-type games. Took forever to load with dial-up.

2002: I buy my first game with my own money, it was a horrible WWII D-day game made by Valusoft.

2002: I go to visit my cousin, who has a PS2. My first exposure to a non 16-bit system.

2003: My jeleaousy of his stuff convinces me to buy a PSone off ebay. My first console. Medal of Honor was my favorite game. I discover the large backlog of free DOS games available on the internet. I found Commander Keen, a game series I still love.

2004: I sell my PSone, and I buy a PS2. Most of my collection was lame, because I didn't know about online game review sites, but I had a few good ones, like Half Life.

2006: I sell my PS2 for an Xbox. The Xbox never shows in the mail, I got my money back, and bought an N64 with some of the money. That N64 is the system I've had continually for the longest. With the rest of my money, and some more I made, I buy a 360. My parents get us an original Xbox for christmas. My younger brother got a Genesis for his birthday, which he proceeded to pretty much abandon to me. After this year, I stopped selling any systems I had that weren't broken.

2007: This was the year I started getting serious about retro games. I buy both a Dreamcast and a SNES this year, in addition to greatly expanding my N64 collection.

2008: This year I bought a Saturn, a power base converter (lets you play SMS games on a Genesis) and a Gamecube. My 360 RRODed this year, but I got it fixed. For Christmas, I finally got another PS2.

2009: I bought an NES and a Gameboy Player this year, along with a DS Lite. My PS2 broke, but I found another, missing everything but the console itself, at Goodwill for $15. I bought it, fixed it up, and attached my old PS2 stuff to it. But before I found the replacement, I bought another PSone so I could at least play my PS collection. I joined Racketboy this year. My parents bought a Wii for Christmas.

2010: My 360 RRODed out of warranty, and I sold it. I bought a PS3.

2011: Nothing so far. Hope to get either a 3DS or PSP2 by the end of the year.

Game Boy Colour (launch day, November 1998)
Dreamcast (launch day, December 1999)
PSone (launch day, July 2000)
Gam Boy Advance (Japanese launch, March 2001)
Xbox (launch day, 2002)
PS2 (October 2003)
PSP (Japanese launch, December 2004)

Born 1988.
1991/2(?): Sega Master System II (i was like 3, I cant remember exactly!)
1994(?): Sega Mega Drive II
1995(?): SNES
Dec 1997(?): 3DO (Somewhere about here I think. Dunno for sure. same for previous two. Christmas present.)
Dec 1999/2000(?): N64 (I know it was towards the latter end of it's life, but before the PS2 came out - christmas present).
May 2001(?): Game Boy Colour (bought from a friend for like £20)
Dec 2001: Game Boy Advance (Birthday money Purchase)
August 2002: Gamecube (Reward for passing exams)
2003(?): GBA SP (replacement for broken GBA)
March 2005: Nintendo DS (bought at launch)
December 2006: Wii (Bought at launch)
March 2009: Dreamcast, CDi, NES, Master System (replacement), Virtual Boy (bought around the same time)
April 2009: DSi (Bought at launch)
2010: Neo Geo Pocket Colour (bought with birthday money)
2010: PS2 (bought with birthday money)
2010: Saturn (Valentines Day)
May 2010: Turbografx (After exams)
October 2010: Pokemon Mini
December 2010: Game Gear

Man, I got a lot of consoles in the last two years

Also, in my family, my mum and stepdad were really averse to getting me games for my birthday and christmas and whatnot, they didn't think they were proper presents (¬_¬), and yet looking back on it, my mum was really nice to me in terms of buying me game consoles. She got me a Master System, Mega Drive, SNES, 3DO as a kid (most or all were second hand, but even then thats pretty good going for a single parent!), an N64 for a christmas present one year (I was really into pokemon and wanted pokemon stadium badly) and she bought me a brand new gamecube for passing my school exams and a replacement GBA when my stupid stepbrother stood on my original one. It's kinda nice looking back on how much she's contributed to my hobby, despite not really being a big supporter of it.
