Re: THE 2010 CHARITY AUCTION ITEMS SHIPPING BY 01/15- THANKS ALL
I just sent this notice in an email to all the item donors:
As I mentioned before, give it a few more days (until February) to start worrying. I know jfe2 and nickfil both planned to send out a TON of items this week...I know most of you shipped your items on time or have since the shipping deadline passed...but if you SHIPPED IN THE LAST FEW DAYS or HAVEN'T YET SHIPPED please let me know what item(s) will likely arrive to their homes in February.
Also, the auction thread is starting to fill up with questions about items that have not arrived. So, in addition to notifying me of items shipped late, please keep an eye on that thread so that you can directly respond to people asking where an item might be.

Re: THE 2010 CHARITY AUCTION ITEMS SHIPPING BY 01/15- THANKS ALL
I've sent my stuff weeks ago, but international shipping seems to be quite a pain. I'm still waiting for an SNES I ordered 3 weeks ago, from the UK, and while Flake and Mrhealthy got their items weeks ago, everyone else seems to still be waiting. I'd at least like for the 2 people living in the UK and Israel to answer me about their items, but only Nathan answered back, when I sent pms about the donation items.

i think for next year either a) don't include a "shipping by date" because it seems most people haven't followed it or b) if a "shipping by date" is included, find a way to enforce it.dsheinem wrote: I know jfe2 and nickfil both planned to send out a TON of items this week...
i don't want to sound like an ass or a negative nancy, but the auction ended in mid december and people still haven't shipped yet. i know life happens and shit comes up, but it has been 6+ weeks since the auction ended. i can totally understand why people are getting anxious and are asking questions.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Well they've had about 4 weeks to ship since all the payments came in (not 6+), but your point stands and I agree that missing the deadline is not good form. The shipping deadline was mentioned when I put out the call for items, I have emailed donors several times, and there's not much that I can do short of giving people a -1 for shipping late. Considering they were donating items for charity, I don't feel right doing that. That's the same reason I let some "late donations" come in past the deadline as well. Obviously anyone who doesn't get their items will get a refund.final fight cd wrote:i think for next year either a) don't include a "shipping by date" because it seems most people haven't followed it or b) if a "shipping by date" is included, find a way to enforce it.dsheinem wrote: I know jfe2 and nickfil both planned to send out a TON of items this week...

Any suggestions for how to better handle enforcement of donating/payment/shipping deadlines for next year would be appreciated!

Europe to Canada is always surprisingly fast (for me at least). I ordered a bluray from amazon.uk once and I got it in less then a week. In comparison, it takes 2 weeks for stuff to ship to me from New York State. Makes no sense.ZeroAX wrote:I've sent my stuff weeks ago, but international shipping seems to be quite a pain. I'm not worried, just curious is all. To be honest, if I never receive my items it isn't a huge deal. This is for charity so I can't be mad about it. I also have no interest in a refund because, while it would suck if I never got Sonic or Quake, the donation is more important than a couple games.
Thank you for the update jfe2.
