I used to not care so much for my PS3..
Rurouni_Fencer wrote:I finally broke down and bought a PS3 about 6 months ago. For the last 3 months, it's been at my buddy's house collecting dust. Aside from a few proprietary releases (LBP, Metal Gear Solid 4, 3d Game Dot Heroes,) I'm not impressed with it. I think I enjoyed it more by going back and re-playing my favorite PSone games on it, but that's about it..

Not that I hate my PS3, I just like it the least out of all of my consoles right now... :(
But within the last month or so, it has quickly turned into one of my top 5 favorite systems of all time..

Now I couldn't care less about my Game Gear... :|

Probably because no one actually has one!

...and if anyone does, they probably like it for the novelty value, I dunno.

I have always had an issue with the N64. I mean, it's not that its bad. It just isn't for me. It seems like the only games I find worth playing that haven't been remade or re-released (aside from digital distribution) are F-Zero X and Kirby 64. That and it is ugly. Real ugly.

So I guess my problem mostly boils down to the fact that I can't find games I want to play and most of the time the games I like can be played with a better controller (Like playing Ocarina on GCN).

For me, my least favorite would be the Atari 7800. God this system sucks. Pretty much every game for it is now on another platform in an updated form. The ones that aren't are hardly worth playing.
Current systems: Atari 2600[x2], NES(top loader), SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, PS2 slim, xbox, xbox 360, Turbografx-16, Game Boy Pocket, Game boy SP[x2], Nintendo DS[x2], Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Wonderswan Color, Neo Geo MVS.

Atari Jaguar 64 u know I actually wanted one of these and I did buy one years later.

Even when I did eventually get around to buying one I just thought there was not even 1 game worth keeping it for.

I wanted one to play DOOM on it because I watched a BAD influence episode on 32x doom vs the Jaguar.
But by the time I had money I went for the PS1 / Sega Saturn instead because the Jaguar was really old hat and tired by then.

Slightly off topic but I already dislike the way Nintendo puts the handhelds as their main product line while it has made a killing this way.
The consoles have fell wayside in terms of games support from 3rd parties.
Many people wanted a console 3d Pokemon game when the original gameboy game came out but they didn't release it they made Pokemon stadium instead.

I wonder if this is why the 3DS is very powerful in comparison to all of the previous gen consoles.
Previously battery life and reasonable hardware was always a focus even in the face of competition but I feel that maybe they are concentrating more and more on Handhelds in comparison to the console which you can see with their upcoming line up.

I have some issues with the N64 too coming from the Super Nintendo I expected it to have the same kind of support but as an N64 owner.
I got hit many times where was Tekken , Final Fantasy 7 and most of all where was Street Fighter.

It's a great console to own in its own right but I don't think I could have in those days just owned an N64 and been happy with it.

Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure the first real time AI was in Video Olympics (a collection of Pong variants) for the 2600.

I thought I was the only one who didn't dig the N64. I loved the SNES, but the N64 really disappointed me and turned me off to gaming for a while. Generally, I don't like the first generation polygon-based games.
