You talking about trade feedback, or those stupid positive/negative karma things? If it's the second, please god no. All these things manage to do is create internet drama.

So, coming from this thread ( http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 01&start=0 ), anyone else think that the titles should be more...retro themed? The guys were right, it doesn't really make sense that we get to "next-gen" status.

No I mean a structured, semi-automated feedback system. I'm willing to bet it could be implemented through software pretty easily. Also, most likely for free..

For example, Nintendo Age has a cool feedback system. Here is mine so you can see what I mean.

Both parties have to agree upon a trade before the deal is sealed and then you can leave your feedback through the system rather then just adding +1 to a thread and having someone add it up periodically. IMO Its more organized and provides a better trading environment for everyone. Racketboy is only getting bigger, especially the fact that the buy/sell/trade forum is so heavily used.

Anybody agree?

I'm up for a more detailed system :)

I can do nothing about forum software, but I'd really like to implement a BST feedback system too. If you notice at the top of the feedback thread it says "Hopefully it can be a basis for getting a real feedback system started...". That suggestion has been there since summer 2009, and was made multiple times beforehand as well. :(

I know the shmups.org forum runs a feedback system that includes legacy feedback which came from an old system kind of like what we have running now. Those numbers were factored into a new feedback system that is now controlled by users. I really think something like that could work here, and maybe the right person could contact them for help on how to do it.

I'm not sure if it is racket or fast or someone else who manages the forum software - but there's clearly a list of things that people would like:

-feedback system (not a karma/ranking system though)
-self created custom titles (after a certain post count)
-spoiler tags
-strikethrough text

also, these things should be able to be implemented automatically:
-some way to auto-prohibit people from making new BST posts until 2 weeks pass. redirects should go to the rules thread :D
-some way to auto-prohibit signatures that violate size requirements. redirects should go to the guidelines thread :D

no one who actually manages these kinds of features has ever chimed in about them in this thread. :( I don't know if that would be racket or who, but if we have a mod who knows how to implement these things (perhaps Niode?), they should be granted the access to have at it.

I just gave Niode FTP access a few days ago, so hopefully he can help us polish up the forum software :)

Thanks a bunch for rounding these up!

These are actually simple to implement in BBCode. Google them, copy code, put them in the custom BBCode area.

Also, possibly Youtube video embedding? I know this isn't difficult, I just did it myself. If you want the code, I can get that for you. :)

God know. Just use links to keep the forum loads fast.
Think of the cell phone and Retro Computer users. iMac 500Hz here.
