Lucky duck, I've wanted one of those for a few months now. Eh, one can only hope he randomly finds one for $10 at a garage sale.

I love the TG and hope you get joy out of it too. I can understand getting one now, may be not as impressive as it was in the day...when you'd have "new" imports to brag about. Now anyone can just tap-tap-tap, burn, Spriggian or Saphire!
Prop's for getting OG hardware instead of just EMU. If you looking for shooters on Hu, try for the Soldier series, Dragon Spirit, Galaga and Sidearms. Those should be cheap. Def get the one of the Crush's.

How does it run on a TG and why do you like the Master System version more? If you can't tell already, I really like Fantasy Zone and it's one of those games where I want multiple copies of it for different systems to compare all the versions. I plan on getting the TG version so I'd like to know what your thoughts on it are, if you'd be so kind.alienjesus wrote:I picked up Fantasy Zone recently too, but I prefer the Master System version.

Turbografx is always the best for old shmups because it did not have slowdown issues like the snes and genesis. Gradius 3, while a great game, comes nearly to a halt on the snes

It plays pretty well, and is impressively close to the arcade version. However, it comes with the same flaws, especially screen scroll - to me, the arcade (and tg16) versions screen scroll is odd and delayed, and you normally need to turn around a few times to get it to scroll as far as you want to see. That doesn't happen in the master system version, it scrolls much nicer.Opa Opa wrote:How does it run on a TG and why do you like the Master System version more? I also like the movement better in the SMS version, the speed settings seem just right. Your mileage may vary with this one though, because I'm playing on PAL 50hz machines, so they're both slower than what a 60hz version would run at.

I've actually noticed that scroll delay on the SMS. It isn't much though. I can't wait to try out the Turbografx version.

I'm sorry but the snes can't handle a lot of things on the screen at once.Bradtemple87 wrote:Turbografx is always the best for old shmups because it did not have slowdown issues like the snes and genesis. Gradius 3, while a great game, comes nearly to a halt on the snes

The snes doesn't have blast processing.
