Re: Sony announces PSP2
I'm excited about the potential of the tech and the user interface. The games look pretty awesome. I will definitely be playing my handhelds more this year.

*Yawn*Uncharted
Killzone
WipeOut
LittleBigPlanet
Hustle Kings
Hot Shots Golf
So there's a bunch of more downgraded console games coming?
Way to be original, Sony!
Isn't that why a lot of PSP games didn't sell well to begin with - they were just dumbed down versions of popular PS2 and PS3 titles?
And yes, that thing is fugly.
"Welcome to the circus of values!"

SOLD! Once they start preorders, I am on it. I bought the original PSP day one back in 2004 (JPN model), this won't be different!
Who cares about the looks? It's a gaming system, not a car. You just look at the screen most of the time anyway!

Re: Sony announces PSP2
I bet the reason why we haven't heard anything about the new media for the games is because the PSP2 was originally intended to be fully digital (which actually could have been kind of neat with it's 3G features), but due to the poor critical response of the Go, Sony had to act quick.
Interesting stuff so far. I'm really surprised people are finding the design ugly, I think it looks gorgeous!

Holy shit that thing looks bigger than a bloody Game Gear... Good luck fitting that fucker in your pocket. It appears games will be sold both digitally and on some sort of proprietary SD-alike format. I was never really interested in it in the first place, it's just going to end up with a crappy ports of console titles just like the PSP did. Save for a few choice titles designed for the handheld. Besides, they're going to have cram that thing full of batteries if they want it to last for more than 2 hours at a time.
Also, who keeps reading NGP as Neo Geo Pocket?

Re: Sony announces PSP2
Any bets on price??? I'm thinking since the PSP was $249 in the US, this is probably gonna be $300 or more. Then again, since Sony sells hardware at a loss, they'll probably sell it for $249 just like the 3DS.

Re: Sony announces PSP2
meh. I was having high hopes for this, after the 3DS has so many - to it (bad game library for at least the first 6 months, crappy battery life, region lock, and well a 3DS lite on the way), but come on Sony. Really? Ports of PS3 games again? Just because you can make the home console experience portable, it doesn't mean it's a good idea.

And thus, the console wars begin anew. I am most excited to see what kind of emulators this thing will be able to run once it is hacked. I am seriously excited about the concept of playing a Gamecube emulator!
Also, I think it is a cool idea to bring PS3 ports to handheld systems, but they need an elegant way of combining the two (I.E sharing save files, bonus unlockables in either game, etc.).

Re: Sony announces PSP2
I really don't think we'll see a PS2 or Gamecube emulator on the thing. N64 perhaps. BTW, do you think this will be hacked as easily as the PSP? Perhaps this time they won't due the same stupid mistake as with the PS3, and this will be unhackable for years. Who knows.lisalover1 wrote:And thus, the console wars begin anew.
