I hate Gamestop. Last time I bought from them is when the original Xbox was still new. They say that the games are new, and sell them for the full new price, but the "new" game has already been opened. Most of my "brand new" games already had scratches and smudges from the paper packet they keep games in.

You guys know that if you buy the games new when they're actually new you can ask them to give you a still-wrapped copy right? Sure it doesn't help once the brand new hype has worn off, but I still go to GameStop to buy new ebecause it doesn't really matter when you buy new since A) Those profits are still going to the publishers and B) It's not feeding directly into the used market that GS thrives on since I never sell my games.

But that's just me. I don't believe in going out of my way to buy a brand new game if I'm already in a mall with a GS and nothing else. Again, for brand new games. I quit doing used a long time ago when I realized the damage it was doing.

Used is what keeps the recent Retro games available.

Poppycock! Used game sales are a terrible disease! Now, if you will excuse me, I am off to the nearest games store to purchase a brand new copy of Burning Rangers. I feel quite certain that this will be an easy and affordable task.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Not that Burning Rangers is exactly a good example of a game you can find used at Game Stop either...

A good point, sir. I will also do my best to buy a brand new copy of Sonic Advance 2, Super Mario Sunshine, and a factory sealed Armored Core 2 while I am at it. I imagine this will be a simple procedure.

Luck? Bah! Who needs luck when there is an endless supply of brand new games for one to purchase? Why, if I needed anything more than my car keys and a crisp set of twenty dollar bills to get these new items, I would imagine that some sort of parallel economy focusing on second hand sales of these games would have sprung up or something.

I will report back after my excursion to the stop for games!

I only have three problems with Gamestop:

1. They killed EB. EB used to be the only dedicated game store in my town, and it was an awesome store. Then my EB turned into a Gamestop, the quality went way down, and the store went out of business. Then they built a new, bland, sterile store about 2 or 3 miles away, which has problems. Mainly, they don't alphabetize their PS2 or DS sections, and they recently downsized the GBA section by about 2/3's.

2. Their used PS2 games are always in horrid condition. Not other game systems, just PS2. Very annoying, since I love the PS2.

3. They ain't EB. That should be self explanatory.

I have nothing against Gamestop, but I saw this on the news to help fuel the hate fire:
Naked pictures found on used game system
SPRINGDALE, OH (CNN) - An Ohio mother found pre-loaded porn on a video game she bought for her 6-year-old son.
In an attempt to save money, Alicia and Bill Elam bought a used Nintendo DS System from a GameStop store in Springdale, OH, on Tuesday.
"I was in shock, I mean this is beyond unbelievable. A child … a 6-year-old son, my 8-year-old saw it, and neither one of them should ever see it," Alicia said. "There were two that were previously on there. One of a man's face, one was of his private parts."
Alicia said she went back to the store and the manager understood her concerns, and he exchanged her device with a brand new one.
A spokeswoman from GameStop said the company has spent millions of dollars this past year to ensure a quality product.
Alicia said she will check out the games before she gives it to her child.
