Can you link 2 dreamcast systems together?
Can you hook two DCs up and play on 2 tvs? One other thing what the hell is a modular cable? On the back of unreal for DC it says Modular cable compatible .

Actually, there are a few games that you can link.
F355 and Virtual On are two that come to mind. I think there are others but I can't remember.
Those games work great and Virtual On is a perfect arcade experience with two sets of twin sticks, two TVs, two DCs, and the link cable.

I think we're dealing with two separate issues here.
1) You can link two Dreamcasts together with a link cable available online here (and other places):
http://www.toysnjoys.com/access_dc_3.html
This cable requires two DCs and two TVs and as I mentioned earlier it only works with a few games; F355, Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, and I just remembered the other game is AeroDancing F.
2)The other issue is hooking up a DC to a computer. I assume you don't mean playing a DC on a computer monitor, but if you do, Racketboy has a great box/cable that will satisfy your needs.
Otherwise, there is a PC to DC cable which connects to the serial port of the DC and you can transfer data over it (VERY slowly). I've never done it myself, but people use it to copy and burn games...it isn't as easy as making a music CD though. You can see it here (although they are sold out right now):

Hope this helps!

doctorfugue is right on the money. Though I have speculated how to connect two or more dreamcast together through the modem - but it is not pretty and I doubt it works. link your dreamcast to a pc through the modem and bridge your modem with your lan connection, then have a computer on the lan only sending out a dialtone. It could possibly work in theory, but if the games have to call a central server, ie Alien Front Online, you are sol.

I'm glad someone brought this up. I'd seen the cable on a site and meant to ask about it a long time ago.
I'm sure it's an issue specific to each game, but does this allow for more than four players or is it just to nix screen cheating and give the ability for separate monitors? My guess would be the latter.
