What about it didn't meet your expectations?
Just emulating isn't enough when you are selling game compilations. There has to be an incentive to play the games like unlockables for getting a high score, detailed story about the game and how it was made. Otherwise you might as well just download an emulator and get almost the same expirience for none of the cost.

Case in point Intellivision Lives is an awesome compilation. They went the distance to make it feel like a purchase with a 3d arcade to select games from, info on how the game came to be which in many cases is a interesting read, highscore challenges to unlock various things like ads and other minor extras.

Even the soundtrack manages to somewhat capture the 80's arcade feel.

Similarly the Sonic Gems Collection for the ps2 has huge ammount of artwork and extra games that can be unlocked.

So yeah simply emulating is not enough.

However i did not notice that the Taito Legends was made by Xplosiv a budget pc games publisher so if i hadn been so excited to see Raystorm and Elevator Action Returns i problaby would have skipped buying it.

Mega Games 1 (Columns, World Cup Italia 90, Super Hang On)
Mega Games 2 (Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi)
Mega Games 3 (Alien Storm, Super Thunder Blade, Monaco GP)

All on the Mega Drive/Genesis. These may have just been a European thing.
Currently playing Splinter Cell: Blacklist

I didn't know Mega Games 3 existed, I have the first two. Thats a pretty awful set of games though, I like Alien Storm, but I'm happy to ignore the other 2.

In Japan and Europe Konami also released some Game Boy Colour compilations featuring updated Game Boy games. I don't know what was on some of them, but Konami Game Boy Collection 2 which I own has Parodius, Quarth (renamed Block Game), Frogger and Track & Field.
