Rumored remakes/revamps:
The Gate
Child's Play
Hellraiser
I Spit on Your Grave ( I did see a poster for this so I'm assuming that we'll see it soon)

What I'd like to see remade/sequel/revamped:
Gremlins (at this point I'll take anything just as long as they don't use CG for the Gremlins but I'm sure they will anyways.)
Sleepaway Camp (I prefer a sequel but I'm not totally against a remake/revamp)
Strangeland (sequel)
Friday the 13th (sequel to remake)
Freddy vs Jason (I'd really like to see another horror icon thrown into the mix like Leatherface or even better Michael Myers but that one is licensing/rights issue.)
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

@Evildeadmanwalking77: here's my thoughts on each one, even though you didn't ask for them!

Rumored remakes/revamps:
The Gate - hmm. Could be ok. Maybe. Better than Gate II anyway.
Child's Play - as long as they go back to the original idea, should be good.
Hellraiser - FUCK. THAT. The first Hellraiser is one of my favorite movies ever. Anyway, I've heard that Barker was involved with the remake, and then I've heard they bailed on it. I don't want it to happen.
I Spit on Your Grave - there's NO WAY it will be even CLOSE to as disturbing as the original. Why bother touching this?

What I'd like to see remade/sequel/revamped:
Gremlins - they WOULD use CGI, so no. Don't.
Sleepaway Camp - you did see the new sequel, right? Return To Sleepaway Camp. It wasn't great. I mean not a total mess, but nowhere near as good as the original trilogy. Though it's greeat that they got the original director to do it.
Strangeland - no thoughts on this, as I didn' see the original.
Friday the 13th (sequel to remake) - YES. Or prequel. Think about THAT! An actual film of Jason at camp and how he gets F'd with and stuff. Sort of a psychological thriller.
Freddy vs Jason - I really liked the Freddy vs Jason vs Ash idea, but remember how long we had to wait between Jason Goes To Hell and FvJ finally happening????

I couldn't agree with you more man on Hellraiser! I don't know what they're thinking with I Spit on your Grave, I can't see them being able to making it more disturbing. I'll never forget my friend telling me that The Last House on the Left remake was more brutal than the original and when I finally saw it I was like: Uhhh...NO!

Yes, I actually have Return to Sleepaway Camp. I didn't really care for it. From what I undersatnd there's actually going to be two more sequels. One will be from where parts 2 & 3 were going and the other for Return to Sleepaway Camp. Don't ask. Idk why but I know I'll end up checking them out once released anyways.

I would love a Friday the 13th prequel! I would like to see more of a back story of where Jason came from. Maybe FINALLY introduce his father, Elias? I was pissed when that scene with Elias didn't make it into part 6's finally draft! It's in the novelization of the film though. I haev all the comics for Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. That could make an excellent script and they even brought back survivors/characters from previous Nightmare on Elm St and F13th films. Pretty cool. I do remember that fucking giant amount of time we had to wait though just for Freddy vs. Jason.

From what I understand as far as Child's Play goes, they want to take it back to how it originally was and enough of the comedy crap! We'll see if they follow through.

Gremlins, I know that they'll end up using CG regardless if they did make a sequel or remake. What gave me hope was a commercial I saw on youtube for some British software (I think it was software) company and they used the original Gremlins wrecking havoc throughout the commercial and these were puppets that were used to film it.

yeah Return to Sleepaway was a bit of letdown for me. That "your ass stinks" kid is really obnoxious. The original is amazing, but the 2nd is my favorite. That blonde chick that's like "you don't have AIDS or anything?" is hilarious. I do remember hearing about the other 2 sequels. I'll see them for sure. Regardless of how good/bad I think a film is going to be, I basically can't say no to a slasher.

but hey, My Bloody Valentine was awesome. I probably liked it better than the original. Same with Black XMas, as much as that statement will piss off many.

I'll still check out the sequels for Sleepaway Camp just because I have so much love for the trilogy. I love the Survival Kit boxed set for the dvds that I have! I agree that kid was fucking annoying in Return to Sleepaway Camp. They couldn't come up with something better than "Your ass stinks!"?

My Bloody Valentine was a great horror flick. I prefer the original over the remake though. The remake was ok, the 3D thing helped it out a bit too. I love Black Christmas, both original and remake! I feel like the remake gave more of a back story which I liked alot for this particular movie.

Yeah I have that Sleepaway box too. It's awesome.

I'm glad somebody else "gets" Black Xmas (note the remake is with an X). A lot of people shrugged it off. I've watched it every holiday since release while my wife and I wrap presents. I love it.

That's awesome!! I watched the Silent Night Deadly Night series this past holiday season. I didn't have time to get to Black Christmas. I did check out Don't Open until Christmas or at least I think that was it. It's where some guy who works at a toy factory snaps and starts offing people in a Santa suit. Think he had an obsession with Christmas and/or toys?

Did you see Sorority Row? It was a "supposed" remake of House on Sorority Row? I didn't really care for it. It sort of reminded me of Urban Legend/I know what you did last summer type thing. That's just my opinion though.

The first Silent Night is amazing. The second not so much. The third I own but never watched. Don't Open has a lot of titles. Mine is called Christmas Evil. My wife and I watch that every year too, since 2004.

I did see it. It's really nothing like the original as you know, but what got me was that it waS so profoundly bad -- that I might see it again in a couple years just to remind myself just how shitty it was. haha

The Gate: I agree with noise. Meh. They couldn't make it any worse than the 2nd one....Well, I guess they could if they really, really tried.
Child's Play: I'm not sure how I feel about this. I kinda liked the addition of ridiculous comedy they added in it. I mean, it was a psycho doll running around stabbing people in the ankles. I thought comedy kind of fit.
Hellraiser: I'll echo the general sentiment: NO!
I Spit on Your Grave: I've seen the posters, but not the film. It got a limited release so that explains why it didn't come to my dinky little town. It's got a 37% on Rotten Tomatoes if that tells you anything. Favorite quote from the reviews: "Definitely wince-inducing and not for the squeamish, but ultimately a mechanical exercise in cashing-in."

Gremlins: I'd love it if they didn't use CG. But I was hoping the Garfield and Scooby Doo movies would be animated. My hope rings eternal.
Sleepaway Camp: I'd prefer a sequel, but a remake wouldn't make me cringe as much as some of the crappy acting seen in the original. Unfortunately if they do remake it, that'll probably be the only thing they keep.
Strageland: I remember catching the end of it and it was...strange. I have no opinion on this one really.
Friday the 13th: They already did one remake. Why not keep going.
Freddy vs Jason: I'd be all for this except I'm sure they'd use Jackie Earle Haley instead of Robert Englund and not only are both Freddy's characters drastically different, but the change in actor would kill the continuity. So I say no.

@Michi: I Spit is not easy to watch. But it's a masterpiece of revenge cinema. Very similar to Last House On The Left. Only way harder-core. Seriously. You have to like get yrself ready to watch it. But you should see it. It's crazy.
