Kill Quicktime "Upgrade to Quicktime Pro" Nag Screen

Post by CRTGAMER »

If this Nag Screen is driving you nuts, an easy fix.
Buy the upgrade or be cheap like me.

1. Disable Internet Date Time auto update.
2. Temporarily change the year to say 2050.
3. Run Quicktime and see that pesterball one last time and click Later.
4. Change the year back to current.

Now the nag won't reappear until 2050.

Quicktime is the single most annoying program in existence. And no, I'm not kidding.

Nice! Clever thinking.

Now if I could get McAffee to shutup, and have Windows stop telling me that USB devices could perform faster (despite having unchecked a box about this) or telling me that I have disabled programs from Start Up (I know Windows, I disabled them) or telling me that I have too many items to display in my Start menu (despite appearing otherwise).

Or, an even better solution: Uninstall Quicktime, and then install Quicktime Alternative.

Please for the love of everything sacred get McAfee off your PC. It is a terrible bloated piece of shit. Install some free alternatives to protect yoru machine if you don't want to by something. Just stop crippling your PC with that terrible scourge. And no Norton is just as bad.

This, a thousand times this. A popular alternative is AVG:

Though I personnally don't use anything.
