The thing that worries me is that the love interest will become more of a focal point. Rachel Dawes was largely unimportant in the first two films (thus why there was no need to have Katie Holmes back). She represented Batman's connection to the regular world but in the end she was just there for saving and that's all well and good because any chick would do for that purpose. The "love interest" had little to do with the integrity of the story. Catwoman, I would think, is gonna play a much more active role in the film and I don't want that "love interest" dynamic to be the focus of the final story and water down the integrity of the trilogy a la "Emo Spidey". That's really my only worry. I believe you are right, I got the utmost trust in Nolan but none in Hollywood. The flick is gonna be huge regardless and I'm gonna see it whether it gets great reviews or not. I want to see a huge Franchise that I love go out on a good note for a change (unlike the Matrix, X-MEN, and Spider-man).

Well do not worry too much, Bully. The great (/sarcasm) thing about Nolan's Batman movies is that there is NO focus. What with all the unnecessary story lines, plot holes, transparent characters, and deus ex machina lazy writing solutions it is very unlikely you will see the love interest become the focus.

A friend I was speaking to last night was adamant that Anne Hathaway was playing Bane, I was entirely certain he had his wires crossed, but now I find myself mildly disappointed that it isn't the case.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to this, but I won't be holding my breath. Dark Knight, for me, wasn't nearly as good as others made out and I'm not a fan of Bale's Batman voice. Still should be an enjoyable movie though, unless something goes disastrously wrong.

I too, thought that Bale was always the weakest casting decision in the Nolan Batman films. But in Batman Begins, at least he only did the throat cancer thing to scare off criminals, in The Dark Knight, he does it for every freaking scene.

For the record, Nolan actually 'amplified' the batman voice in The Dark Knight, whereas in Begins it was more natural. I honestly don't know why he did that. My subwoofer does not need to vibrate when batman speaks.

Apparently, Nolan never sat down to watch an episode of Batman: The Animated Series. Kevin Conroy switches from Bruce to Batman much more subtley. He really is the best Batman animated or otherwise
