YES! Someone else has seen this movie. This is a brutal horror movie that all gore-hounds NEED to see. However both the sequels, as well as the recent remake are complete crap.
I love NOTD. It's actually one of my all time favorites.

I wouldn't say the sequels or even remake were crap. Though none of them compare to the original at all. Kevin Tenney (sp?) also did Witchboard by the way.

I have always loved Night of the Demons as well. I can't believe the hate for part 2 though, that movie is great. Sure, it is a little more campy than the original but it is still awesome. I went out and purchased it the day it came out on VHS for $25 and I still wasn't disappointed. As a teen at the time Bibi no doubt had something to do with that though.

I agree about part 3 and the remake though.

Friday the 13th is awesome, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist, House (which I haven't seen in years), Prom Night, etc. are all great fun.
Are you talking about the movie with William Katt and George Wendt? If so, I really enjoyed that one too. Also enjoyed the second one. Can't really call it a sequel since it didn't really have anything to do with the first one except taking place in a house.

yeah. Written by Fred Dekker who also did Night Of The Creeps and The Monster Squad. Also of interest, in Italy the House series is actually passed off as part of the Evil Dead series, as Evil Dead is referred to as La Casa there (The House). At any rate, then there's a ton of totally non-related La Casa sequels that have nothing to do with Evil Dead or House movies here.

...the more you know!

I see some really good stuff in those posts. Better than a lot of people on horror websites will post. For me...

Suspiria
Trick 'r Treat
NotD 1 & 2 (obviously)
Jacob's Ladder
Nightmare on Elm Street (original)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
A Tale of Two Sisters
Shutter (original)
Dead Man's Shoes (Horror?)
The Host (Not dubbed)
High Tension (Not dubbed)
Dawn of the Dead - both original and remake
Pan's Labyrinth - If you want to consider it horror.
The Devil's Backbone
Chronos
Stephen King's It
Pet Semetary

I have seen far too many horror movies. I find it very difficult to find anything new to watch especially considering the quality of recent crap. I have never been a fan of The Evil Dead stuff. I like campy movies but not when they get to goofy territory (except Troma movies at 3 am). Also, while I agree that Alien is well made I don't find it all that scary or particularly care for it all.

have you seen the original? It's not goofy AT ALL. The 2nd adds comedy to the mix, but the first is just creepy mang.

If it is the one with the tree rape scene then yes. I guess it isn't as goofy as the rest but something about it just didn't sit well with me. Maybe I'll give it a second chance when I have some time. It has been many years since I watched it.

I think you should -- I'm not sure how you could appreciate the first Night Of The Demons and dislike the first Evil Dead film to be honest. Give it another shot dude.

I didn't like Evil Dead, either. And I love Night of the Demons. It was like Evil Dead couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a serious movie or a campy movie and it was straddling the fence between both. It just didn't work for me.

again -- the first one?? This sounds like a better description of the 2nd movie than the 1st.
